The range of plug valve applications is broad, and the PRESSURE VALVES portfolio reliably addresses the vast majority of requirements. High temperatures and pressures. Corrosive media. Lethal, toxic and sub-zero fluids. Our family of plug valves delivers low energy consumption through low-torque designs and safe operation with tight shutoff performance. High levels of uptime are achieved through pressure-balanced designs. Absolute shutoff requirements can be addressed by double-isolation models.
Plug valves have very simple design and fewer parts. Plug valves are easy to clean and can be cleaned without having to remove the body from piping system. Plug valves provide reliable leaktight service. They can be quickly opened or closed and they offer low resistance to the flow.
Due to large amount of friction to rotate the plug, greater force is required to operate the these valves. For larger valves actuators may be needed. Usually plug valves cost more than ball valves, which have similar design.

A ball valve has a quarter turn spindle connected to a ball inside the valve. The ball has a hole, or port, through the middle so that when the port is in line with both ends of the valve, flow will occur. When the valve is closed, the hole is perpendicular to the ends of the valve, and flow is blocked.The handle position lets you see the valve's position. On a floating ball type, the upstream pressure
presses the ball against the seat, giving a tight shut off. On a trunnion mounted type, the ball is fixed; seat sealing action is achieved by the thrust of springs acting on the seat rings, as the pressure increases the fluid pressure pushes the seat rings against the ball.
Ball Valves are Strong enough & Usually work to achieve the perfect shutoff even after years of No use. Therefore Ball Valves are Perfect Choice for Shutoff Application & are often preferred to globe & Gate valve for this purpose, especially in smaller size.
Regular Port, Full Bore, 2-piece or 3-piece design. Seats can be of PTFE NYLON, CARBON GRAPHITE etc. suitable for operating conditions. Ball components have a precise finish enabling a high number of valve operation cycle. Continuity between body and ball, ball and stem is provided by an antistatic device. The stem anti blow out design, is mechanically separated with the ball. In case of deterioration of the soft seat due to a prolonged exposure to a fire, a metal to metal contact, between seat and ball will restore the sealing to stop the flow of fluid.
