Rubber Diaphragm

A Rubber diaphragm seal is a flexible membrane that seals and isolates an enclosure. The flexible nature of this seal allows pressure effects to cross the barrier but not the material being contained. Rubber Diaphragms are also used to protect a process fluid from the pressure sensor.

The reinforced membrane transfers energy and separates two medium.

  • Works under two different pressures / liquids / gases.
  • Reinforced with fabric.
  • Transfers pressure from one side to another.

Selection Parameters :

    • Contact Medium.
    • Working Atmosphere.
    • Frequency of Deflection.
    • Engineering Design.

Rubber O-Rings

An Rubber O - Ring is a circular band with circular cross section to arrest leakages between two faces or over shaft and hole. They are designed to be seated in a groove and compressed during assembly between two or more parts, creating a seal at the interface.

Rubber ORings selection is based on chemical compatibility, service temperature, sealing pressure, lubrication requirements and working atmosphere. Successful o-ring joint design requires a rigid mechanical mounting that applies a predictable deformation to the Rubber o-ring.

This introduces a calculated mechanical stress at the o-ring contacting surfaces. As long as the pressure of the fluid being contained does not exceed the contact stress of the o-ring, leaking cannot occur. The seal is designed to have a point contact between the o-ring and sealing faces. This allows a high local stress, able to contain high pressure, without exceeding the yield stress of the o-ring body.

The flexible nature of Rubber o-ring accommodates imperfections in the mounting parts. Mostly these O Rings are used to seal hydraulic, pneumatic and wherever sealing is required. Prasee Rubber & Plastic Technology manufacture Rubber o-rings, seals and associated components from a wide range of materials, with the shortest lead-times in India.

When mismatching the sealing line and parting line, the sealing performance is improved due to the flash marks. Because there is a mechanical removal of flash is taken place in the sealing line.

The said offset parting orings is widely used in critical applications. These Rubber o-rings are costlier than regular O'Rings, because of its construction.

Prasee Rubber & Plastic Technology can manufacture virtually any seal, in any material, while you wait, and can manufacture custom parts for all seal applications. Our continual investment and development of product, personnel and customer satisfaction ensures we remain unrivalled in our field for quality and service.

Rubber Seals

Typically, Rubber seals vary from rubber O-rings such that external pressure / force is used for effecting sealing actions. The rubber seal construction will consist of a sprung main sealing lip which has a point contact with the shaft.

Rubber seals also may have additional dust lips to avoid entry of foreign particles. Seal selection is based on sealing pressure, service temperature, lubrication requirements and cleanliness of environment.

The types of Rubber seals include :

  • Reciprocating Rubber seals.
  • Piston Rubber seals.
  • Rod Rubber seals.
  • Labyrinth Rubber seals.
  • Bodok Rubber seals.
  • Wiper Rubber seals.
  • V ring Rubber seals.
  • Cheveron Rubber seals.
  • Lip Rubber seals
    • Single lip Rubber seals.
    • Double lip Rubber seals.
  • Shaft Rubber seals.
      • Axial Shaft Rubber seals.
      • Radial shaft Rubber seals.

Rubber Gaskets

A Rubber gasket is a mechanical seal that fills the space between two objects, generally to prevent leakage between the two objects while under compression to seal high pressure under static conditions.

It saves money by allowing less precise mating surfaces on machine parts to fill irregularities. A flange rubber gasket is a type of rubber gasket made to fit between two sections of pipe that are flared to provide higher surface area. Flange Rubber gaskets come in a variety of sizes and are categorized by their inside diameter and their outside diameter.

There are many standards in gasket for flanges of pipes. The Rubber gaskets for flanges can be sheet Rubber gaskets and ring Rubber gaskets. Sheet Rubber gaskets are simple; they are cut to size either with bolt holes or without holes for standard sizes with various thickness and material suitable to media and temperature pressure of pipeline.

Ring Rubber gaskets are mostly used in offshore oil- and gas pipelines, water line, sewage pipelines, chemical pipelines and are designed to work under extremely high pressure.
