The Solar Lantern is a portable lighting device suitable for either indoor or outdoor lighting, covering a full range of 360°. It consists of a Compact Fluorescent Lamp (CFL) which gives an illumination equivalent to a 40-Watt bulb. Solar PV module charges a maintenance free battery. Reverse flow of current from the battery to the module at night time is prevented with schotkey diode. Disconnection and reconnection of the solar module is done automatically by the "SPV CHARGE CONTROLLER".
