FEATURES AND ADVANTAGESThe rugged, lightweight and portable MP-3000A Microwave Profiler delivers continuous temperature and humidity profiles with radiosonde-equivalent assimilation accuracy, and liquid profiles. Compact patented design and methods ensure accurate long-term, all-weather performance; mature software generates a full suite of forecast tools and indices in familiar meteorological formats. Optimize local high-impact weather surveillance and prediction with profiling Radiometers from the industry leader. Single-band MP-2500A and MP-1500A radiometers use the same platform as the MP-3000A.
MP-3000A TEMPERATURE, HUMIDITY AND LIQUID PROFILERThe PR-Series radiometers are often used in non-weather forecasting applications. The photo above is on Baffin Island, Canada, where measurements are being made in the ice pack with a pair of PR-Series radiometers.
Among other things, customers use PR-Series radiometers, to remotely sense soil, sea, snow, ice and vegetation properties in frequency channels ranging from 1.4 to 89 GHz. Portable, modular, rugged PR-Series radiometers are ideal for accurate and reliable atmospheric and earth surface observations. They have been operated from aircraft, trailer, snowmobile and dogsled platforms. PR-Series radiometers of different bands can be used simultaneously to solve custom problems or collect research data.
Satellite-based microwave observations are increasingly used for near-surface soil moisture, sea, snow, ice and vegetation remote sensing. PR-Series radiometers are ideal for calibration and validation of AMSR, SSMI, SMOS and proposed SMAP satellite observations, as well as other earth surface remote sensing applications.
Raymetrics offers a custom LIDAR design service for LIDARs which cannot be built from within our standard range of modular components. These can include entire LIDAR stations, Differential Absorption LIDARs (DIAL Systems) for ozone and potentially for other gases, and LIDAR components such as specialist telescopes.
Raymetrics telescopes are designed for LIDARs with a focal point inside the telescope (as opposed to out the back where an eye-piece would be for atronomical telescopes). This reduces size and weight and also reduces the size of the secondary mirror, resulting in reduced obscuration and up to 40% increased signal.
Mirror coatings are designed for wavelengths beyond the visible light range (for UV and IR wavelength). Optical quality glass is also used for telescope windows, thereby reducing chromatic aberration, which is extremely important for LIDARs. Glass is also not used to focus, which also results in chromatic aberration.
200, 300 or 400 mm telescopes are available as standard, with other custom sizes on request.

THE LARGEST LIGHTNING SENSOR NETWORK
ENTLN has expanded to include more than 800 sensors in more than 40 countries around the world, including North and South America, the Caribbean, Europe, Australia, Africa and Asia. ENTLN commands the dense sensor deployment needed to achieve high efficiency capture of total lightning activity. ENTLN data is currently being used by a variety of government agencies and commercial enterprises. ENTLN: UNIQUE LIGHTNING DETECTION CHARACTERISTICSDetection of cloud-to-ground (CG) lightning is critical in protecting people and property. However, CG lightning actually accounts for only a small percentage of the total lightning discharges that occur in the atmosphere. In-cloud (IC) lightning flashes, on the other hand, account for the vast majority of lightning activity. High detection efficiency of IC for discharges, combined with advanced analytics and display capabilities, enable improved lead times for identification of storm cell growth and development to improve early storm warning capability. TOTAL LIGHTNING DETECTION AND SEVERE WEATHER ALERTINGThe network's ability to detect both in-cloud and cloud-to-ground flash signals at high efficiencies makes it practical to track and predict severe weather in real time. By using the total lightning data and a real-time lightning cell tracking system, the Earth Networks Dangerous Thunderstorm Alert (DTA) system has been developed. A DTA is issued when the ENTLN detects a high frequency of lightning, which indicates the increased potential for:
The Dangerous Thunderstorm Alert appears as a purple alert area polygon accompanied by an associated text alert. The DTA can be used to enhance weather monitoring systems operated by national meteorological associations, or may be utilized in areas where meteorological tools such as radar are unavailable -- serving as a vital missing link that can help save lives and protect property. Earth Networks provides total lightning data via standard application program interfaces (APIs), desktop visualization tools such as StreamerRT, and Google Earth. SUBTITLES :StreamerRTSM DTAS Outdoor Alerting Spark Lightning Detection THE FACTS:
Worldwide Lightning Detection Providing Advanced Severe Weather Prediction and Alerting The Earth Networks Total Lightning NetworkTM (ENTLN) incorporates patent-pending systems and technology to provide unmatched in-cloud and cloud-to-ground lightning detection. It is the first in-cloud (IC) lightning and cloud-to-ground (CG) detection network deployed on a global basis capable of detecting long range in-cloud lightning at high efficiencies critical for the advanced prediction of severe weather phenomena such as:
These potentially deadly weather events often occur within 5 to 30 minutes of in-cloud flash initiation. The ENTLN has demonstrated the ability to significantly improve severe weather warning times over radar and other technologies by incorporating highly advanced predictive capabilities that are crucial for characterizing severe storm precursors, improving severe storm warning lead times, and comprehensive weather management planning. ENTLN data is extremely valuable for meteorological and government agencies, aviation, utilities, sports and recreation, and for mobile alerting.
