AKA:Alloy Indefinite Chilled Cast Iron Rolls has a long working life span. Normally its applied to intermediate and finishing stands of long products and flat products hot rolling mills. Normally ICDP roll is added with chemical compositions like Cr, Ni, and Mo, which may increase the work layer depth. Thanks to the big qty of carbides existed in matrix structure of roll barrel, thus it has better wear resistance.

Pros for ICDP rolls:high hardness, low hardness drop, good fire crack resistance, easy heat treatment process, thats why it has been widely used all over the world.

Application differs by hardness: For strip mills, the roll hardness normally 7585HS, For medium and heavy plate mill, hardness is relatively smaller as 7080HS

The surface of these Rolls have Chill with various alloys and are cast iron based. The matrix structure is pearlitic or bainitic depending on the alloys and its percentage. High alloy content gives uniform carbide distribution and fine deposits of graphite on the microstructure. Desired hardness of these Rolls can be obtained by controlling the chemical composition and using different casting method according to the application. These rolls produce excellent results in plate and section finishing.

We also Produce Chill Rolls Barrels by centrifugal casting, Inthis casting rolls remain free ffrom pinholes and cracks.

The steel shafts are fitted in the Barrels with shrink fitting technology along with M.S lock nuts on both sides of the barrels. This method annihilates the chances of loosening the shafts.
