A small amount of fresh oil is continuously injected in the internals for lubrication and sealing by an independent force feed oil pump. This oil is discharged from the exhaust of the pump along with process vapors non condensables. Since fresh oil is continuously injected and contaminated oil is continuously discharged with the vapors, there is absolutely no drop in vacuum through out the process. This will result in lowered operating temperatures and substantially reduced batch durations. The oil consumption varies from 300 mlhour to 450 mlhour depending on the model capacity of the pump.Heat treated Phenolic fiber vanes are proven to withstand vapors like methanol, EDC, MDC, toluene, Xylene, Benzene, hexane etc. these also ensure that there is minimum wear on the stator bore. The design of the pump ensures that vanes bearings can be replaced in a short time without disturbing the motors or process pipe lines or electricals .

These use large amounts of energy to produce high pressure motive steam for their motive force. The operating cost of Steam ejectors are increasing day by day due to frequent rise in fuel costs of the steam generator. These also require large quantities of water with growing scarcity of water and ever rising prices of L.D.O. for boilers, the steam jet ejector will not be economical for the process industry. The optimum performance of ejectors is achieved only in narrow range of steam pressure. These also create effluent.

Single and double stage pumps that can achieve a maximum ultimate vacuum of 70 torr and 40 torr resp. The non condensable will mix with the sealing fluid (water) and contaminate it. This will lead to the corrosion of the pump itself and all other utilities as this water has to be cooled to room temperature via the cooling tower. Size to size these type of pumps use more energy than oil sealed vacuum pumps of the same capacity. These pumps create Effluent.

In this type, the pump is immersed in the sealing fluid (oil) and this is re circulated. The vapors sucked by the pump are exhausted thru the oil resulting in the vapors condensing in the oil and contaminants. Again if the vapors are corrosive then the pump itself will be subject to corrosion and heavy maintenance. To regain the required ultimate vacuum one needs to service the pump and fill in fresh oil which is time consuming and expensive.
