Sodium CMC For Toothpaste Industry

When used in toothpaste, CMC plays the part of adhesion and moulding. It stabilizes the quality of the toothpaste through good compatibleness and keeps the appearance of the toothpaste smooth. By adjusting formulation or controlling production process, it can satisfy various needs of the customers such as good thixotropy, adhesive consistency and stable quality.

Precautions

Although Sodium CMC is more resistant to microbiological attack than other water-soluble, its solution is not immune. When solution is stored, a preservative should be added to prevent viscosity degradation.

Sodium CMC For Detergent Industry

SCMC is used in detergents as an Anti soil redeposition agent, particle suspender, skin protector, color retention agent, stabilizer, homoginiser, texture protector.

A very special property of SCMC is to stop the redeposition of dirt particles on to the cloth in laundering process. Addition of a small amount of SCMC to detergents especially a synthetic detergent results in a marked improvement of its soil suspending properties. Synthetic detergents as a class are comparatively poor in this respect and the practice of adding SCMC to them is universal. SCMC is most beneficial in the laundering of cotton. About 10% of the "active matter" of a laundry detergent powder should be the percentage added as SCMC. This is normally 1-2% SCMC. It is the carboxyl group, which attracts the dirt and holds it, stopping redeposition onto the cloth.

Textile Industry Sodium CMC

CMC forms non-staining, resistant films with good adhesiveness. It gives higher weaving efficiency. Desizing is easy. It protects the texture of the yarn.
