The counterpoise provides elevated earth plane and antenna mounting point for the antenna system of dvor (doppler vhf omni range) radio navigation. It is basically steel structure supported on reinforced concrete footings with the top surface covered by an electrically conducting weld mesh. The antenna elements are mounted on individual poles approximately 1.2 meters above the weld mesh surface. The plan view of counterpoise is shown in figure – 1. The counterpoise is providing with central platform, walkway, trapdoor and the ladder.
