Brakes & Braking Systems #4597847

Reservoir-Type Master Cylinders

  • Feature Fewer fittings, meaning fewer leak paths • Space-saving advantage, no need for a remote reservoir • Fewer parts to inspect and maintain
  • Weight 0.32 to 1.05
  • Rod Type Stainless steel
  • Length 5.25 to 11.535
Master cylinders are located in the cockpit on each of the pilots rudder pedals. They are used to turn a force into a pressure to actuate the brakes on an aircraft. By integrating the reservoir directly into the master cylinder housing, Parker has eliminated the need for a separate, remotely mounted reservoir.

Pull-Type Master Cylinder

  • FEATURES AND ATTRIBUTES: Anodized housing – corrosion protection • Light weight • American made
  • Weight (lbs) 0.45 to 1.5 lb
  • Minimum Operating Temperature (F) -65° F
  • Maximum Operating Temperature (F) 275° F
Pull-type master cylinders are an alternative to push-type master cylinders and are common in the general aviation market. Pull-type master cylinders are used when the aircrafts linkage is not set up for a push-type master cylinder due to cockpit design constraints or the air framers preference. The aircrafts linkage is set up to pull the rod of the master cylinder. This action is achieved when the pilot puts a foot on the brake pedal to stop the aircraft.

External Floating Caliper Brake Assemblies

  • Feature Ease of maintenance; no need to jack up aircraft for lining change • Easy installation and removal from aircraft for overhaul • Lower cost of operations
  • Size 5, 6, 8, and 10-inch designs
The brake assembly and disc combination (part of the main wheel assembly) are designed and qualification tested to properly and safely decelerate the aircraft under various conditions. Unauthorized substitution of components can compromise brake effectiveness, is a violation of the qualification basis, and is prohibited.

Rotor Brake Assembly

  • Material Aluminum housing
  • FEATURES Weight optimized for each application • Robust design • Live technical support
  • Maximum Operating Pressure (psi) 560 psi to 3000 psi
The brake assembly uses a split-brake cylinder with a single inlet port. Wear indicator pins provide a visual or tactile indication of usable lining remaining. The disc, which is a wear component, is not part of the rotor brake assembly.

Multi-Rotor Steel Brake Assembly

  • Material Aluminum housing
  • FEATURES Weight optimized for each application • Robust design • Live technical support
  • Weight 5.29 to 35.80 lbs per brake assembly
Each multi rotor steel brake assembly is composed of one brake cylinder, one pressure-plate assembly with replaceable steel wear pads, two or more rotating discs (rotors) with sintered-friction material on a steel core, one or more stationary discs (stators) with replaceable wear pads, one torque-tube assembly with replaceable wear pads, along with necessary nuts, washers, and bolts.
