Wirecloth can offerwide ranging characteristics dependent on the configuration of wire thickness in relation to aperture size, as well as type of weave, and can vary in texture from being as fine, soft and flexible as silk to being as rigid as steel plate. Many of the properties of wire cloth are not available using alternative metal media.

Brass Woven Wire Cloth

Brass Woven Wire Cloth
Low brass is the most popular brass alloy for wire cloth screens. With an analysis of 80% copper and 20% zinc, low brass offers good resistance to corrosion like copper although its electrical and thermal conductivity are lower. The tensile property of brass screen is higher than those of copper with some sacrifice in formability.

Brassresists atmospheric corrosion, water and many salt water solutions. A high percentage of zinc makes it stronger and more durable than copper and bronze.

Bronzeis abrasion resistant and is well suited for exposure to most atmospheres. Its high copper content makes it more corrosion resistant than brass. It is also harder and stronger than copper.

SnakeBrand Brass Woven Wire Cloth specifications listed are normally available from stock for prompt delivery. Many other brass specifications can be produced according to requirements although a substantial minimum order will apply.

Copperhas excellent electrical and thermal conductivity. It's non-magnetic, non-sparking and resists atmospheric corrosion better than brass. Copper is ductile and malleable, but not as strong as brass.

Usage:
