All Fluid Dynamics CPF Systems, both Model 100 and 200 series, operate using parallel filter circuits that permit continuous, uninterrupted process filtration.
In operation, one filter housing/element assembly is on-stream until a predetermined differential pressure is reached(Fig. 1). Then, by operating the two handwheels, the spool valves are repositioned, in proper sequence, to progressively close off flow to the housing containing the dirty filter elements, and divert flow to the off-stream housing containing the clean filter elements (Fig. 2). Vent valves are incorporated to purge the air during the filling of the off-stream housing to maintain balanced system pressure and prevent entrainment of air in the process stream. Upon completion of the changeover sequence (Fig. 3), the dirty housing/element assembly is removed and replaced with a clean assembly.
The T series of filter sheets from Pall (formerly SeitzSchenk) includes 10 different degrees of permeability.
Grades T 120 to T 950 are used for clarifying filtration. Due to their positive ZETA potential these depth filters possess a high adsorption capacity.
In contrast, grades T 1000 to T 5500 are designed for coarse filtration. They are characterized by a more open structure and combine very high outputs with long filtration cycles due to their high dirt holding capacity.
Grades T 1000 to T 5500 have proved successful in the filtration of viscous media, for the retention of gel particles and coarse dispersed substances at low differential pressures. Furthermore, they can be inserted into plate and frame kieselguhr filters to retain the pre-coat filter material.
porous metal fiber medium is specifically designed to optimize particulate capture via its asymmetrical graded pore structure. This structure exhibits the finest pores on the upstream side of the filter media, insuring the capture of particulates at the filters first surface, where they are easily removed by in-situ, reverse flow operations.
Manufacturing is done completely in-house, including the production of the metal fibers, the formulation of the proprietary base medium, and the design of the element. The process concludes with Pall's scientifically controlled sintering process.
The sintering process fuses the structure of the filter media, insuring a weld-bond which utilizes no binders that might otherwise shed and contaminate downstream equipment and/or final product quality.
Produced from fine metal fibers ranging from 2 to 38 m in diameter, the resulting filtration medium exhibits high-efficiency particulate capture and low flow resistance characteristics.
Gaseous service filter cartridge configurations are available in point-of-use designs (i.e. cleaned off-line), or as self-cleaning elements (i.e. blowback filters).
coalescer housings provide a range of standard vessels to complement the Pall SepraSol and SepraSol Plus liquid/gas coalescers, which are used to remove liquid and solids from a wide range of gas streams found in process industries including refinery, natural gas conditioning, chemical production, and power generation. These housings are available for both the single open-ended and double openended SepraSol coalescer designs and the larger SepraSol Plus coalescer designs. Standard sizes accommodate from 1 to 70 coalescers.
Combination of these housings with Pall SepraSol elements provide many benefits, including:
All Pall SepraSol products contain a patented oleophobic/hydrophobic treatment that enables them to:
Pall Rigimesh and PMF range of cleanable metal cartridges has been extended to include a high area, large bore version. These are specifically designed to provide a very high surface area, up to 4.1 m2, for handling large flow rates. Manufactured fromRigimeshorPMFmedium to give very low clean differential pressure drops. Absolute removal from 2.5 micron up to 105 micron in liquids and .25 to 85 micron in gases.

With a design based on 30 years of actual field experience, the Pall HLP6 oil purifier combines the excellent efficiency of mass transfer purifiers with an exceptional level of reliability and ease of use.
Water contamination in oil systems is responsible for major maintenance and operational problems of critical components in lubrication and hydraulic circuits. From power generation turbines to paper machines, these problems include:
Our experience in the field has shown that it is never enough to remove free water: centrifuges and coalescers alone cannot protect bearings against corrosion and fluid degradation.
Positive Seal:Standard seal material is Nitrile (H13) available as either an internal o-ring or flat gasket depending on coalescer size.
Outer Drainage Layer:Drainage of coalesced liquid and protection from re-entrainment is provided by a polymeric outer drainage layer. This ensures consistent, high efficiency performance.
Metal Support Core:Axial strength and protection against liquid slugs are provided by a perforated inner support core constructed of304 stainless steel.
Outer Cage:Media support during operation is provided by a 304 stainless steel outer support cage.
Primary Coalescer:Coalescing is achieved by use of a high area pleated glass fiber medium that is surrounded by a non-woven polymeric support and drainage layers. A patented surface treatment is used that enhances coalescer performance and lowers fouling tendency and pressure drop.
End Caps:304 stainless steel end caps are used to improve cartridge strength and prevent contaminant bypass.
Key BenefitsHigh Flow filter is a large-diameter, coreless, single-open-ended depth cartridge with inside-to-outside flow. It is available in a variety of proprietary melt-blown filter media in ratings from 10 m to 100 m. With its large diameter (152.4 mm [6 in.]), desired results can be achieved in high flow rate applications with significantly fewer elements and smaller housings.
Features and Benefitsceramic membranes are asymmetric
multi-channel membranes composed of a porous alumina
support and a filtering layer (alumina, zirconia, titania).
High compactness of the multichannel membranecombined with high permeability allows the treatment oflarge volumes with high throughput.
The Membralox GP ceramic membranes range withlongitudinal permeability gradient, ensure an homogeneousand calibrated flux along the flow channel, thus optimumutilization of membrane surface within a stable micro filtrationregime.
Key FeaturesCoalescer is a high efficiency separation cartridge that is designed to handle the toughest emulsions. Constructed with a fluoropolymer medium, Pall PhaseSep HE Series Coalescers can be used in a wide range of liquid / liquid separations in the refinery, chemical, flavor & fragrance, and biotechnology industries. The Pall PhaseSep HE Coalescer should be used for difficult emulsions where improved performance is required.
