Vibrating Furnace Charges are effective solutions to problems such as high labour cost, hazards to furnace operators faced in foundries, melting shops etc. Such a kind of automation allows foundry men to work at a safe distance thus preventing injures arising out of molten metal splash. It also facilitates in rapid and quick charging of the furnace thereby allowing maximum utilization of the furnace. In addition to this, the damage to furnace lining is avoided which normally occurs in manual charging of the furnaces.
Principle Of Operation :
The required amount of scrap metal is loaded into the storage hoper at the loading point. The trolley the carries the vibrating feeder along with the storage hopper to the furnace charging point. Here, the vibrating feeder is energized and the material is effectively discharged into the furnace as per the required capacity. As the metal is melted down, fresh batch of metal can be fed into the furnace thereby keeping the furnace full. The capacity of the vibrating feeder can be varied by varying the amplitude of variations. The amplitude of vibrations can be varied by adjusting the position of centrifugal weights or by using a variable frequency drive (optional). A control panel specially designed to suit individual client requirement depending on the sequence of operations required is provided.
ORTON vibrating screens work on the principle of linear displacement of the materials due to unbalance forces generated by two unbalance motors rotating in opposite direction. These screens are basically used to separate coarse materials from fine materials which exit in mixed form.
Depending on the grading size details, the number of decks required are decided. Generally the screens are provided with on deck or two decks. In case more than two decks are required for a particular application then, two vibrating screens can be used in tandem in such a way that the finest output of the first screen can be fed as the input to the second screen. The second screen will further grade & separate the material as required.
The selection of the screen deck mesh will depend on factors such as the materials to be screened, whether the material is dry & free flowing or is moist and sticky, particular size of the material to be screened, shape of the material etc. Utmost care is to be taken to ensure that the screen decks do not get clogged as this will result in reduced screening area thereby affecting the output of the screen.
Basic Construction :The screen body is extremely sturdy & rugged made up of mild steel of adequate thickness. The thickness of the steel plates depends upon the size of the screen & the selected motor.
Depending on the material to be screened, the sieve analysis & other related factors, suitable screen decks are provided. Normally these decks are in the form of wire mesh or perforated plates.
These screens are mounted on the structural framework via specially designed mounting springs. The selection of these springs will depend on the total weight of the equipment & the motor rpm. These screens are usually base mounted, however they can also be suspended if the situation demands.
The screens are provided with suitable inlet & outlet openings as required by the customer. The positioning of the outlets will depend upon the requirement of the customer.

These vibrators are suitable for mounting on bin and storage silo, vibrating feeders, tables & screens & many other applications ORTON UNBALANCE MOTOR vibrators are totally enclosed, surface cooled units operating 415 / 440 volts, 3 phase, 50 cycles. A.C. Supply. The vibrating frequency depends on the revolutions of the rotary unit & can be chosen from four ranges available viz, : 3000, 1500, 1000, 750 vibrations per minute. The Centrifuge force can be adjusted from zero to maximum by manipulating the relative positions of the eccentric weights provided on either side of the shaft. Various models are available giving a wide choice of Centrifugal force, frequency of vibration, mounting position, Insulation etc. The customer is therefore assured of getting the most suitable vibrator to meet this requirements.
When used as a single unit, they impact circular vibrations. If directional vibrations are needed, two vibrators running in the opposite direction should be use.
Salient Features :Unbalance motor vibrators are used where mechanical vibrations are required. There vibrations can be in the form of pure rectilinear vibrations for conveying / screening the material in vibratory feeders / screens / tables etc. For obtaining rectilinear vibrations, two unbalance motor vibrators rotating in the opposite directions are used.
ORTON make Cable Drag Chains are used for conveying flexible cables / hoses etc. to movable units with maximum reliability. The construction of these chains is such that they cannot bend below a fixed minimum radius which is decided based on the cable / hosesize.
ORTON make Cable Drag Chains can be used for conveying cables & hoses. In case of hoses, the medium can be air, liquid or any gaseous matter.
These chains can be used for horizontal applications, vertical applications, circular movements as well as combined horizontal and vertical movements.
