The FLUX Technology

  • Organic Rankine Cycle ( ORC ) to capture wasted heat and turn it into additional power.
  • Heat can be recovered from a wide range of systems such as

  • The turbine drives a generator to convert the work into electricity. The remaining steam is then condensed and recycled as feed water to the boiler. Instead of water, an organic fluid can also be used.
  • Fluids can be used below a temperature of 150C to 75C and do not need to be overheated.
  • Any exhaust gas which is being emitted at a high temp.from source.
  • This heat can be converted into either Hot Water Or Thermic Fluid which in turn can be used for driving the ORC Engine to generate power.
  • Proved ORC with Lower Capacity with Lower Temperature. Due to the Compact arrangement of the Turbine, thermal losses are minimized and suitable to 150 to 75. The Turbine blade has a constant untwisted profile along its length to provide uniform radial flow. High precision blades can, therefore, be obtained from low-cost manufacturing methods, and a simple and accurate aerodynamic analysis can be used for the design. In most cases, full admission can be used on all stages due to the radial arrangement, which puts the low volumetric flow stages at a small diameter.

Furnace Oil Emulsification Systems

Opel Energy Systemsalways worked with an ideology of increasing efficiency of industrial machinery.

What is Emulsification?

Emulsification is blending of furnace oil and about 10 % of water with an emulsifying agent. The solution needs to be hated up to 50 Deg.C & mixed properly with circulation pump for 3 to 4 hrs. For proper blending, Emulsified water in furnace oil can be separated with the help of De-emulsifying agent only.

This Emulsified furnace oil can be used directly to any burner without any changes in an existing system, to increase the combustion efficiency of the fuel, resulting in a reduction of F.O. Consumption by approximately 5 to 7%, reducing the fuel cost.

The Emulsion is a stable state for at least one-year, so Emulsified furnace oil needs to be consumed within the period of one year.

Combustion of Emulsified Furnace Oil in Burner

For complete combustion of any oil in the burner, fuel needs to be properly atomized in the firing chamber. In major burners this atomization is achieved by the spray nozzle, this is called as primary atomization. With the help of Emulsification, we can achieve secondary atomization of fuel inside the firing chamber which helps incomplete combustion of fuel to increase the overall efficiency of the system.

When flame takes place the water in oil emulsion gets vaporized explosively due to rapid heating, resulting in dispersion within individual fuel droplets. The water vaporization is the conversion of the water droplets to steam, in turn, produces rapid expansions of the surrounding oil droplets resulting in very fine atomization of the fuel, this is called as secondary atomization.

In this state of fuel, effective surface area of fuel droplets increases resulting in complete combustion of fuel. According to National Science Foundation (NSF) study in the USA, the picture shows that droplets of emulsified fuel, 200 microns in size; into a multitude of 1 to 10 micron converted sized fuel droplets i.e. very fine atomization takes place.

This fine atomization helps in the complete combustion of fuel oil increasing the overall efficiency of the system.
