It is widely used to make pallets, bottles, jars, yogurt containers, hot beverage cups, food packing, etc. Medical Applications: With its ability to handle stringent sterilization procedures, PP is commonly used in the medical industry.
Polyethylene is a common plastic mostly used for packaging. It is a thermoplastic polymer consisting of long hydrocarbon chains, (C2H4)nH2, that differ in chain length. The melting point for high-density polyethylene is typically in the range of T = 120130 C, and for low-density polyethylene about T = 105115 C
LLDPE has a density range of 0.9100.920 kgm3 and it is substantially a linear polymer with significant numbers of short branches. It is commonly produced by copolymerisation of ethylene with short-chain -olefins (e.g. 1-butene, 1-hexene and 1-octene).
