Noble Molecular Sieves Type 3A is synthetic crystalline Molecular Sieves having three-dimensional potassium alumino-silicate frameworks with interconnected cavities. Access to these cavities is through pores of uniform diameter of 3Ao (angstroms).

 

Noble Molecular Sieves 3A adsorbs Polar Molecules with effective diameter less than 3Ao e.g. H2O, NH3, while they exclude molecules with effective diameter greater than 3Ao like olefins, n-paraffin etc.

 

Noble Molecular Sieves 3A is specially used for drying of unsaturated hydrocarbons streams or polar liquids like Cracked Gas, Acetylene, Acetone, Propylene, Methanol, Butadiene, Ethanol, IPA, THF, MDC, MEK, Xylene, Methylene Chloride, Ethyl Alcohol, Tetra-Butyl Ether, Drying of N2-H2 mixture produced by cracking NH3, CO2 & Methane Gas etc.

 

In liquid phase application all liquids should be drained off and evaporated from the adsorbent bed before thermal regeneration.

Noble Molecular Sieves Type 13X, the sodium form of the Type X crystal structure is an Alkali metal alumino-silicate. Type 13X will adsorb molecules with critical diameter up to 10 angstroms.

 

Noble Molecular Sieves Type 13X is used commercially for general gas drying, air plant feed purification (Simultaneously removal of H2O and CO2) and liquid hydrocarbon and natural gas sweetening (H2S and mercaptans removal). All molecules which can be adsorbed on Molecular Sieves Type 3A, 4A & 5A can be absorbed on 13 X.

 

Noble Molecular Sieves Type 13X can be regenerated for re-use by purging or evacuating at elevated temperatures. The degree of regeneration (water removal) is dependent on temperature and humidity of the purge gas, normally a temperature of 180 - 240°C is required. A properly regenerated molecular sieves can give moisture dew points up to -80°C, or mercaptan or Co2 levels below 2 ppmv.

Noble Molecular Sieves Type 5A is synthetic crystalline Molecular Sieves having five- dimensional potassium alumino-silicate frameworks with interconnected cavities. Access to these cavities is through pores of uniform diameter of 5Ao (angstroms).

 

Molecular sieves may be represented by the empirical formula – M2/nO.Al2O3 X SiO2.yH2O where M is the alkali metal (Calcium / sodium) cation with a valence `n’. The water of hydration can be reversibly driven off without any collapse of the crystal structure and can be replaced by molecules of other adsorbents.

 

Noble Molecular Sieves 5A mainly used for adsorption of H2O, Co2 and H2S unsaturated hydrocarbons in both thermal & Pressure Swing Adsorption systems like Nitrogen Generation by purification of flue gases (simultaneously removal of water and Co2).  Molecular Sieves 5A offer matchless performance in pressure swing adsorption (PSA) system of the inert gas generator.

 

Co2 removal from natural and associated gas, here 5A provide faster rates and higher capacities. Recycle gas sweetening (simultaneous removal of H2S and lower mercaptans) of natural gas and liquid hydrocarbons.

Noble 13X Oxygen Molecular Sieves is a synthetic crystalline aluminosilicate with a regular micropore structure.

 

Product Applications

Noble 13 X O2 (PSA) adsorbent is specifically developed for on-site generation of Oxygen. In super atmospheric pressure swing cycles. The Nitrogen selectivity of the product makes it particularly applicable for this function. PSA O2 Adsorbent Molecular Sieves can also be used to retrofit PSA O2 units containing older generation adsorbents to increase the productivity or reduce power consumption.

 

Regeneration

Regeneration of 13 X Oxygen Molecular Sieves is performed by reducing the pressure or using a suitable purge gas. The appearance of so-called hydrothermal conditions during the regeneration should be avoided as far as possible.

 

13 X Oxygen Molecular Sieves is non-toxic.

Oxygen purity is not a property of the 13 X O2 Molecular Sieves itself, but of the ensemble PSA unit plus 13 X O2 Molecular Sieves.
