Ball Screw is a mechanical linear actuator mechanism, where translatory movements have to be converted to rotations or vice versa. Ball Screws are widely used in machine tools, material handling equipment, industrial robots, aircraft and space systems, weapon systems, nuclear applications, automobile power steering, etc. These Ball Screws are applied with rust proof oil and packed with protective plastic wrapping, supported on V shaped cradles inside the wooden box.
Advantages - NBR Ball screws have efficiency greater than 90% for the reason sliding friction is replaced by rolling friction as compared to conventional acme screws
- Sliding metal to metal contact minimizes starting friction and eliminates stick slip tendency where a slow, smooth linear motion is required. Due to smooth movement precision feed and fine adjustment is possible.
- Due to the rolling of balls in hardened grooves very little wear occurs over the life of NBR Ball Screws.
- The rolling contact between the screw shaft and nut results in reduction of driving torque to one third or less as compared to lead screws.
- High positioning accuracy is possible even at low speeds due to elimination of backlash or axial play by preloading.
- High reliability of NBR Precision Ball screws results from use of proper material, heat treatment and superior process techniques.
