Steam distilled Essential Oil from dried rhizome of Acorus Calamus. Its use has been restricted by IFRA due to high percentage of Asarone in Indian Calamus Oil. A high concentrations (0.5%) of b-Asarone have been shown to be positive in Ames mutagenic test following activation. Recently to enhance memory it is being used in a drug called megamind plus.

The oil of Calamus is used as an ingredient in flavors, particularly in liquors.
The oil is employed also in perfumery.
It is used as an insecticide in Ayurvedic System of Indian Medicines and also as an stimulant, emetic, nauseant, stomachic, aromatic, expectorant, carminative, antispasmodic, and nervine sedative.
Due to high Asarone percentage this oil is useful in mental ailment.
Due to its insecticidal activity it has been used in combination with Neem Oil, cedar wood oil as Room Sprayer against house hold insect.

Asarone, Calamenol, Calamene

Steam distilled oil from whole plant(except roots) of Tagetes minuta. It is cultivated in H.P. above 1000 mtr. above sea level. Material is collected & distilled when flower starts to mature.It has mosquito larvacedal activities. Whole flowring plant oil was significantly active against Lewis lung carcinoma in vivo.E-ocimenone at 40 ppm caused 100% mortality of Aides agypti larvae in 24 hr.

Due to marigold like odour it is used in Marigold type of Perfumes which are being used in Incense Sticks during Religious Festivals at Religious Places.
In perfume formulations in small dosages, for creation of Apple and other fruity fragrances effects for toilet preparations.
It is used as a modifier in hair lotions of the bay rum type.
It is also used by Attar Industries in India.
The oil is being used as insecticide also.

Steam distilled oil from seeds of Apium graveolens.

Celery seed oil is said to have a sedative and tonic effectr upon the central nervous system, hence the use of celery seed oil in nerve tonics.
The principal use of this oil, however, is in the flavouring of all kinds of food prducts-canned soups and meats, sauces, and particularly in the flavouring of the popular celery salts, celery tonics, and culinary sauces.
Celery seed oil is one of the most valuable flavoring agents, imparting warm, aromatic, and pleasing notes to food products.
It prevent rheumatism and gout.
Used in bronchitis asthma and to some extant in liver and spleen disease.

Steam distilled oil from seeds of Dacus Carrota.Seeds are aromatic, stimulant and carminative.

For perfume composition it blends well with many type of scents particularly orris ect.
It is also used to liquor flavour.
Carrot seed oil has beneficial influence on the kidneys and dropsy and prevents the brick-dust sediment sometimes found in the urine.
As antiseptic it prevents putrescent changes within the body.
Seeds are used as aphrodisiac and nervine tonic.
Carrots cleanse the blood.

The oil has been steam distilled from the roots of Angelica Glauca.The root oil is stimulant, diuretic, diaphoretic, carminative and emmenagogue in nature.

The oil is also useful in high-grade perfumes, to which it imparts peculiar musk like notes which are hard to identify.

The oil of Angelica is employed in high grade liqueurs of French type, such as Benedictine and chartreuse blends etc.

Gin essences too contain a considerable potion of Angelica oil.

The oil is good cordial and stimulant; in flatulence and dyspepsia.

Jatamansi oil is distilled from dried roots of Nardostachys jatamansi.

Due to musky, earthy, Herbaceous, Camphoraceous woody and Balsamic odour this oil can be used in variety of perfume formulation to give special touch in low conc.
In large dosages it can be used in oriental type of perfume.
Oil is also used as tonic, stimulant and antispasmodic.
It is used for treating epilepsy, hysteria and convulsion infection and palpitating heart.
Root oil with other combination is useful for curing snake bite and scorpion bite.

Steam distilled oil from ripe berries of Juniper Communis found in Jammu & Kashmir and in Lahaul-Spiti, Kinnaur and chamba Distt. of Himachal Pradesh.The oil has been known for a long time as a diuretic. Because of its local irritating effect on inflamed organs, however, great care must be exercised during its administration.

Juniper Berry Oil is used widely in essence for the flavouring of beverages and liquors, particularly of the Gin and Sloegin type.
Several European liquors, "Steinhager" have their characteristic flavour chiefly due to the presence of Juniper Berry Oil.
Juniper Berry Oi is carminative, Stimulant and Diuretic. It is useful in Stomatitis, chest trouble, Liver complaints, Piles, Labour Pain.

Costus Root oil is its common name, and Saussurea lappa is its bolanical name, the Himalaya Highlands is its native place

Costus root oil has been used for intriguing notes in Oriental type perfumes.

Costus Root oil is extract from a herbaceous perennial plant with yellow composite flowers growing in the Himalayan highlands only. It is mainly extracts by using vacuum distillation of the resinoid extract obtained by extraction of the roots with solvents.

Steam distilled oil from dried roots of Alpine Galangal.It is stomachic, stimulant and Carminative.

It is used in treatment of catarrhal infections.
The Volatile oil of the rhizome of A. Galangal inhibited the growth of M. tuberculosis in a concentration of 25 mg./ml.
The oil inhibited the growth of gram negative organisms in a concentration of 0.4 to 0.6 mg./ml. The LD of the oil in guineapigs was found to be 0.068 ml./100gm. body weight.
