The Coolant Fluid with iron Dust particles Falling by Gravity to the Inlet of the Separator from the Precision Machine Tools such as Grinders, Milling Machines, Automates etc. The Coolant with Iron impurities come in to contact with Magnetic Drum and extracts all Iron particles.
The Magnetic drum is kept clean at all times by a Scrapper Blade along the circumference.

Suspended Permanent Magnetic Overband Separators are designed to eliminate tramp metal from the product carried by belt, vibratory feeders or inclined planes.Over bands are mainly used to protect Machine such as Crushers, Shredders and others, to remove ferrous particles and purify products ( Industries like Foundries, Coal Mines, Cement Works, Food, Sponge Iron, Char coal, Glass, Chemical Industries and Domestic waste recycling Plants.)The permanent Magnetic Overband Separators are used when an automatic Removal of ferrous contamination is necessary. If not, fixed Permanent Suspension Magnets are more suitable.
Applications:
Five type of Separators Re designed to operate at a predetermined working gap over the conveyor : 100, 150, 200, 250 and 300mm.
The speed of the belt , the nature of the product, its density, its granulometry and the size of the pieces which have to be extracted are on of the parameters to be taken into consideration when choosing the type of Overband.
Construction:
Two U-section pieces are fixed on the Magnet by Fastening ears and are supporting bearings of Drums. Drums are equipped with shafts mounted on removable hubs. All bearings equipped with stakes for tightening the belt.
The belt is driven by a Reduction Gear Coupled to Electric Motor / Geared Motor by Vee- belts.
Magnet Unit:
The Magnet is made of High Intensity Stroncium Ferrite Magnets and is guaranteed for the Magnetic Power through out the life of installation. A Non - Magnetic Stainless steel Plate is provided to cover the poles of Magnet. There is no need for any electrical supply or maintenance.
Installation :
These units can be installed either inline over the terminal head pulley (Fig - 1. ), or transversal to the conveyor (Fig - 2). In both cases, it is necessary to foresee Non- Magnetic products under the Magnetic Field.
The most effective position is inline (Fig - 1) over the head pulley. The material being conveyed is in virtual Suspension and Tramp Iron is therefore more readily extracted.
Very good results are obtained by combining a Permanent Magnetic Overband with Permanent Magnetic Pulley at discharge end.

The principle of the Eddy Current Separator is fairly straightforward. Basically, a rotor comprised of magnet blocks, either standard ferrite ceramic or the more powerful rare earth magnets depending on application, are spun at high revolutions (over 3000 rpm) to produce an eddy current. This eddy current reacts with different metals, according to their specific mass and resistivity, creating a repelling force on the charged particle. If a metal is light, yet conductive such as aluminum, it is easily levitated and ejected from the normal flow of the product stream making separation possible. Separation of stainless steel is also possible depending on the grade of material. Particles from material flows can be sorted down to a minimum size of 3/32" (2mm) in diameter. There is no question that Eddy Current Separators have been a crucial development for the recycling industry. In a world of depleting natural resources the race is on to find faster, cheaper, more efficient ways of reclaiming and recovering raw materials, as well as improving the purity and reducing the risk of contamination during their processing. One of the more recent and exciting innovations in material separation is the non-ferrous Eddy Current Separator and how it is revolutionizing efforts to reduce waste and damage to the environment by recovering valuable non-ferrous metals from municipal and industrial refuse. Sorting and separating ferrous metals using magnetized systems has been standard practice for many years. Recovering non-ferrous metals, however, was a labor intensive, costly and a time consuming exercise, only feasible from bulk materials like incinerated refuse and fragmentized car scrap. It meant metal mixes, such as brass, copper, aluminum and steel were relatively worthless as a mixture and were often landfilled. It was like pouring money and vital natural resources down the drain. The Eddy Current Separator is able to separate and recover aluminum and other non-ferrous metals from household, industrial and incinerated waste, including inert plastics and other materials. It is able to separate metals from scrap, and remove metallic particles and contaminants from glass and other substances. In fact, Eddy Current Separators offer a cost effective method of recovering up to 95% of valuable material from rubbish and waste, grading precious metal concentrates for further processing. It also improves the purity of non-ferrous auto scrap up to 85-95%, maximizing the speed and efficiency of recovery and increasing profits. These systems use the latest and most effective magnetic circuits to produce strong eddy current forces, which maximizes efficient separation. Also incorporated are proven design features, such as quick and easy machine adjustments, single source dependability, and energy efficiency. |
The wet drum separator NTS is used to remove very fine magnetisable components from low concentration, low-viscosity liquids. The NTS is intended for use in the metal processing industry and for the treatment of preconcentrates extracted from the STEINERT high gradient magnetic filter HGF. Around 90 % of the grain sizes ranging from 1 m to 1000 m can be separated as sludge. Features such as stainless steel housing and powerful neodymium iron boron magnets are standard.
General Princip :
The liquid flows through a semicircular separating chamber beneath a stainless steel drum to which the magnetisable particles are attracted. The strong, high-gradient magnetic field is created by a cylinder consisting of permanent magnetic discs positioned within the drum. These special permanent magnets generate particularly high field gradients which are necessary for successful separation, as is the need with all magnetic separators.
For recovering magnetic / ferrosilicon in dense media plants and iron ores wet drum separators are primarily used. They remove contaminants from the product stream, increasing product purity and plant productivity. In the applications where the product purity is most essential the wet drum separators can use powerful rare earth magnets which can remove very fine and weak contaminants even from dense materials.
How it Works :
The liquid flows through a semicircular separating chamber beneath a stainless steel drum gather is a semicircular separating chamber through which the liquid flows. The cylinder consisting of permanent magnetic discs are positioned within the drum to which the magnetizable particles are attracted. By rotating the drum, the filter cake is lifted out of the slurry and the magnetic field.
