HIGH-VOLTAGE GAS FILLED STANDARD REFERENCE CAPACITORS

Insulated Standard Capacitors are indispensable in every modern high-voltage laboratory and test field where it occupies a wide range of important functions. The SF6 insulated standard capacitor is used as Capacitance standard in measuring bridge circuits to measure the Dielectric Dissipation Factor (Tan-Delta) of all types including cables, capacitors, bushings, instrument transformers and power transformers. Further-more, It can be used as high-voltage capacitor for voltage divider circuits for high-voltage transformer test. Power Electronicals standard capacitors insulation is of the highest accuracy and reliability. The result reflects a true advantage in high voltage measurements especially at high humidity levels.
The SF6 insulated Standard Capacitor is also used in conjunction with our Capacitance and Tan Delta measuring bridges (e.g. PE-ACDF-1, and PE-MCDF-6 ) as a comparison standard for exact measurements of the Capacitance and Tan-D of HV equipment like cables, transformers, bushings, capacitors, etc. The capacitor is provided with a top electrode which allows partial discharge free interconnections to the other elements of the HV circuit.
The SF6 insulated standard capacitor is designed for indoor service and is portable. The standard capacitors of the SCGF series are used for:

* Exact measurements of AC voltages (AC divider)

TUNABLE RESONATING INDUCTER

The tunable resonating inductor is an essential accessory used in conjunction with Capacitance and Tan-Delta test sets to expand the capacitance range of the test sets .
The tunable resonating inductor is connected in parallel with the internal power supply of the test set and the test object. Tuning the resonating inductor varies the inductance to tune the parallel circuit for minimum resistive load current to be taken from the source, while a majority of inductive current negates the capacitive current requirement of the test object.
The tunable resonating inductor is epoxy molded to avoid effect of atmospheric conditions on the insulation capacity of the coil. The body comprises of a welded steel frame with thick Aluminum panels designed to keep the weight low but withstand the rigors of field operation.
TRI series can also be connected to Hipot HV units, in similar configurations, with necessary changes in a few connections so as to be able to reflect correctly on the current measuring modules and overcurrent protection on the main units.

APPLICATION
Capacitance and dissipation factor power factor testing is used to determine the quality of electrical insulation. Hipot testing is done at higher than service level voltages to ensure that insulation can withstand service level conditions for a longer period of time without significant deterioration.The insulation characteristics may degrade during usage due to temperature variations, contamination, moisture ingress, partial discharge or normal aging. Tan-Delta measurements are used to detect these problems before complete insulation breakdown occurs. It is necessary to perform periodic Power Factor checks on insulation of all types of HV/EHV equipment in service, or those which are intended to be put in service.While the C&DF test sets available in the market can typically cater to the power sourcing requirement (< 3kVA) that will be demanded by certain test objects like Transformers, Bushings, CTs, PTs, etc, there are certain high-capacitance objects like large Motors, Generators, Cables that typically have capacitance levels ranging from 0.05uF to 1uF or some typically long cable runs even having up to 3uF!
