Molexs Duo-Clasp system is designed for LCD and PDP TV applications. As a 1.25mm pitch dual-row system with gold plating, Duo-Clasp now fills a niche that was missing in Molex's range of positive lock wire-to-board connectors. Although some of the design features are slightly different, the Duo-Clasp family of connectors can be viewed as an extension to our CLIK-Mate line. Both CLIK-Mate and Duo-Clasp feature a dual positive-lock system that provides superior mating retention compared to positive-lock systems with just a single-lock interface. The dual-lock design prevents the housing from being dislodged from the PCB connector in case the wires are pulled, which can cause poor signal contact. Both systems also offer a tactile "click" feel to confirm mating. The main difference between CLIK-Mate and Duo-Clasp is the plating: Duo-Clasp has gold contact plating whereas the various CLIK-Mate families have tin. The gold plating option offers customers additional mating and contact durability for those applications requiring those features.

Manually operated equipment is the most popular and the most cost effective alternative. Insertion and extraction crimp tools are used after the terminal product has been crimped. ServiceGrade crimp hand tools are low-cost ratcheting hand tools used in field repair for a limited number of prototype terminations. A terminal locator is not always included or required and in some cases, the locator may need to be removed to operate properly. Locators and springs are not available as replacement parts. PremiumGrade crimp hand tools maintain their quality over time and meet the crimping specification over the life of the tool. PremiumGrade tools are designed with high precision as well as locators to ensure the terminal is located properly prior to crimping. Locators and springs are usually available as replacement parts. Hand tools are used for field repair and prototyping and not production. Air Tools are pneumatically operated to allow the tool to close under air power and not under the hand force of an operator. These systems allow for less operator fatigue and help provide a more consistent termination and output over time. Semi-automatic terminations allow connectors to be brought into the crimp area where the operator presents the wire to the connector prior to termination. Once the wire and connector are aligned, the operator presses a switch and the press terminates the connector onto to the wire. The operator generally will be required to remove the connector once the termination is complete. TM-3000 Crimp Press System 120V AC and 240V AC versions are designed to provide an effective method of applying a wide range of side-feed and rear-feed terminals to a pre-stripped discrete wire or cable. These 2.0 tons presses are capable of crimping up to 8 AWG products and accept the Molex Modular Tape Base unit. This press system uses industry-standard applicators similar to the Molex Mini-Mac and FineAdjust applicators.
