Manganese Metal

Manganese is a chemical element with symbol Mn and atomic number 25. Manganese is not found as a free element in nature; Manganese is often found in combination with iron, and in many minerals. Manganese is a metal with important industrial metal alloy uses, particularly in stainless steels. Manganese is a silvery-gray metal that resembles iron. Manganese is hard and very brittle, difficult to fuse, but easy to oxidize. Manganese is essential to iron and steel production by virtue of its sulfur-fixing, deoxidizing, and alloying properties. Steelmaking, including its iron making component, has accounted for most manganese demand, presently in the range of 85% to 90% of the total demand. Among a variety of other uses, manganese is a key component of low-cost stainless steel formulations.

Manganese Metal Powder

Manganese is essential to iron and steel production by virtue of its sulfur-fixing, deoxidizing, and alloying properties. Steelmaking, including its iron making component, has accounted for most manganese demand, presently in the range of 85% to 90% of the total demand. Among a variety of other uses, manganese is a key component of low-cost stainless steel formulations. Small amounts of manganese improve the workability of steel at high temperatures, because manganese forms a high-melting sulfide and therefore prevents the formation of a liquid iron sulfide at the grain boundaries. If the manganese content reaches 4%, the embrittlement of the steel becomes a dominant feature. The embrittlement decreases at higher manganese concentrations and reaches an acceptable level at 8%. We offer Manganese metal in flakes form to casting industries and in powder form to welding industries.

Ferro Phosphorus

Ferro Phosphorus, as an additive to the production process of ferrous metals, will impart several desirable properties upon the resulting alloy. Adding Ferro Phosphorus to an alloy prevents oxidation and the later rusting of metals. Ferro Phosphorus exists in many allotropic forms. Ferro Phosphorus, a combination of phosphorus with iron, is used as an ingredient in high-strength low-alloy steel and is used as a good dehydrating agent that can remove water during the alloy formation. Ferro Phosphorus is a by-product of the steel manufacturing process, as when pig iron is being converted, the conversion process will skim Ferro Phosphorus from the top of the slag. This was first done using the basic Bessemer process or the Thomas process.

Calcium Alloy

Calcium-Silicon alloys are used as deoxidizer and desulfurizer in the manufacturing of high grade steel. Indeed, Calcium and Silicon both have a strong chemical affinity for oxygen. Especially calcium, have a strong chemical affinity not only for oxygen, but also for sulphur and nitrogen. The steel industry accounts for around 90 % of global Calcium Silicon consumption.

Ferrous Sulphide Sticks

Ferrous Sulphide sticks are widely used as a laboratory chemical for the preparation of Hydrogen Sulphide gas, by famous KIPPS apparatus when comes in contact with dilute mineral acids. Ferrous SulphideFerro Sulfur, in alternate forms, is used for dyeing several base materials including wood and stone, and as a coagulant for industrial wastes. Ferrous SulphideFerro Sulfur is used in pigments and in the pickling baths for aluminium and steel. In medical applications, it is used as an astringent and styptic. Other uses include (in its dry form), animal feed, water treatment, fertilizer and catalysts. In its moist form uses include iron oxide, water treatment, and catalysts. Together with other iron compounds, ferrous sulphate is used to fortify foods and to treat iron-deficiency anaemia. It has also been applied in the purification of water by flocculation and for phosphate removal in municipal and industrial sewage treatment plants. Other uses include treating wood panels on residential houses. In the purification of crude phosphoric acid, Ferrous Sulphide is used in cake form as a reducing agent to remove heavy metal impurities from phosphoric acid.

Manganese Alloys

Silicon manganese is a chemical compound made by mixing natural silicon with manganese, an element found naturally in the earth. When combined, these elements can be used to produce a number of specialty steel alloys. Silico manganese enhances the natural properties of steel, giving it increased strength and function, as well as improved aesthetic appeal. This means that silicon manganese alloys can be used in applications beyond those associated with standard steel products. Silicon manganese may also be known as ferro silico manganese or abbreviated as SiMn. Silico Manganese may be used alone, or combined with other substances to create various alloys. The ratio of silicon to manganese can also be adjusted to give steel the desired properties. Standard silicon manganese steel alloys contain 14 to 16 percent silicon, and as much as 68 percent manganese. They also include small amounts of carbon, which is required for the steel to undergo a chemical reactions with these compounds. In stainless or specialty steel products, the silicon content can be as high as 30 percent.

Low Carbon Ferro Chrome Powder

Extra low carbon ferrochrome is used during steel production to correct chrome percentages, without causing undesirable variations in the carbon or trace element percentages. Extra Low Carbon ferro chrome is also a low cost alternative to metallic chrome for uses in super alloys and other special melting applications. Extra Low Carbon Ferro Chrome is limited by the carbon content of the alloy being not more than 0.03%. Extra Low Carbon Ferro Chrome is usually produced by the Perrin Process, Thermit Process or by the VIM Process.
