Mayavan Mill was established in 1980 as a company manufacturing Dhothies, Greigh cloth, Cambrics for domestic consumption in Erode. The mill is comfortably based in the ‘wet processing’ district of Erode, has strategic advantage of being in the heart of the textile belt of South India. Since inception it has become one of the leading supplier of Greigh fabrics, processed Dhothies, Cambrics, Cotton industrial fabrics and other processed fabrics for the domestic market in India. As an expansion measure, the company started expanding capacity in the early 90s, started concentrating in the export-oriented market also, and started supply of superfine fabrics to the Garment and Home-Textile manufacturing industry. In the late 90s, the company vertically integrated into manufacture of Garments and Home-Textiles. The major clients then were mostly merchant exporters in India and a few foreign clients. The beginning of this century unfurled a lot of new avenues for the company. The company started venturing more into exports whilst expanding the domestic market parallely. The company is now a leading exporter of fabrics, garments and home-textile in India. The major markets include Europe, USA and the Middle East.
