Description: Select Premium Branch Live Rock is large branches of mostly Pocillopora, or Porites, or even Acropora, that died, and then were encrusted with coralline algae. They are predominantly reddish and orange, with purple or other color highlights. The live rock "braches", are usually 11/2 - 2" in diameter, and often "Y" shaped. Excellent for building layers and shelves in your reef aquarium. Branch live rock makes for excellent open setups, where waterflow is important. Pacific Island Deepwater live rock consists of ancient encrusted coral heads. The advantages of using Pacific Island Deepwater Live Rock is the incredible diversity of coloration, and unique shapes. It is also lighter than Fiji Premium Rock so you need to purchas less rock. For Pacific Island Deepwater Live Rock we recommend 1-1/2 pounds per gallon where Fiji rock would require 2 pounds per gallon to look the same. For aquascaping, it is acceptable to alter the shapes and sizes of the rock with a hammer and chisel. This will not damage the integrity of the rock, nor it's inhabitants.
