They are used exclusively for etch primer generally known as 2-pack wash primer. Poly vinyl butyral resins provide outstanding impact resistance, corrosion resistance, inter-coat adhesion, toughness and abrasion resistance, when used for making different types of coatings. Printing inks for packaging materials like glassine, cellophane, aluminium foil etc are based upon poly vinyl butyral resins.
