1 Products availableAloe is a tropical or subtropical plant characterized by sharp pointed leaves. For centuries, this plant has been considered to have, and has been used for its medicinal and therapeutic properties. The mucilaginous jelly from the parenchymal cells of the plant is referred to as Aloe vera gel. The mucilaginous gel of the Aloe vera, which is essentially a polysaccharide, holds the secret to Aloe vera's medicinal properties. Liqualon Company has developed a novel process to obtain the polysaccharide of Aloe Vera in dry form.
Preparing Gel of Aloe Vera Gel powder (1% w/v): 500-ml water is taken in a beaker and it is stirred at high speed with the help of stirrer. 5 gm Aloe Vera Gel powder is added quickly enough to ensure that there is not much lump formation. There may be small amount of lumps, which disperse after stirring for some time. About one hour stirring is required to make the gel.

Ambicel MBC is water insoluble hydrocolloid. It has got excellent dispersibility in water. Sodium Carboxymethylcellulose is co-processed with partially depolymerized highly purified cellulose to make Ambicel MBC. Incorporation of Sodium Carboxymethylcellulose in the microfibrils of Microcrystalline Cellulose before drying prevents bonding of microfibrils during drying. This action of Sodium Carboxymethylcellulose (CMC) makes Ambicel MBC higly dispersible Gel forming cellulose.
After stirring in water Ambicel MBC forms either colloidal sol or white opaque gel, depending upon concentration. Individual microfibrils of cellulose get separated when dispersed in water and forms gel or colloidal dispersions. In water, with shear, Ambicel MBC forms a three-dimensional matrix comprised of millions of insoluble microcrystals that form a stable, thixotropic gel.

Ambicel :
Mabitab1500 is a new partially pregelatinized maize starch designed for pharmaceutical use. It has been developed as a filler for two-piece hard gelatin capsules. Mabitab1500 is a free-flowing and self-disintegrating powder with high bulk density, making it most suitable for this application. Excellent flow properties and bulk density allow homogenous filling of capsules. It is made from native starch by simple and unique physical modification which ensures rapid disintegration and drug release. Mabitab1500 particles action is well suitable for rapid disintegration and release of the drug from the pharmaceutical preparation. Mabitab1500 is superior starch excipient over Native Starch by virtue of its flow property and disintegration property.
Applications :
Wet Granulation : Mabitab1500 is partially soluble in cold water. It can therefore be employed as a binder-disintegrant in wet granulation, It improves hardness and disintegration time of the tablets. Use level about 15% is recommended in wet granulation tableting
Capsule Filler: Mabitab1500 is cost-effective filler and disintegration aid for hard gelatin capsules.
