Current and potential transformers are usually used as single phase units. However nowadays, combined ct-pt units are the most commonly used variant of current and potential transformers, especially while being used for metering purposes for single or multiple ratios. At times, an additional core is provided too for protection purpose. The combined ct-pt units is used for - 3 phase 3 wire metering system or for 3 phase 4 wire metering system. In case of combined ct-pt units we use a single unit consisting of 23 single phase cts and one 3 phase pt in place of 23 single phase cts and 3 single phase pts.

We manufacture high voltage indoor metering cubicle up to 33kv. This is ideal for indoor use where metering is done in 3 phase 4 wire system employing 3 current transformers and 3 voltage transformers.

Metering Cubicles or Panels are indoor versions of the combined metering unit. These metering cubicles or metering panels as they are popularly called are dry type units and are ideally used for indoor installations.

Metering Cubicles consist of a combined structure which is manufactured using high grade steel which could either be hot-rolled mild steel or cold rolled mild steel depending on client requirements. The surface of the cubicle can either be painted or powder coated depending on client specifications. Surface painting can be of various types and are dependent again on client instructions and requirements.

The unit is divided into separate compartments to house the transformers and energy meter inside. It is fitted with dry type epoxy resin cast current transformers as such are dry type units. Low Voltage Metering Cubicles can be used for both 3 phase 3 wire metering system or for 3 phase 4 wire metering system. In most circumstances they are used for electrical systems of low voltages say 400 V.

Metering Units are outdoor versions of the combined Current Transformer and Voltage Transformer (CT-VT) units. These metering units as they are popularly called are oil filled type units and are ideally used for outdoor installations although they may be used indoors subject to certain conditions.

Metering Units consist of a combined structure which is manufactured using high grade steel which could either be hot-rolled mild steel or cold rolled mild steel depending on client requirements. The surface of the unit can either be painted or powder coated depending on client specifications. Surface painting can be of various types and are dependent again on client instructions and requirements.

The metering unit is filled with oil immersed current transformers and voltage transformers and as such are oil filled type units. High Voltage Metering Units can be used for both 3 phase 3 wire metering system or for 3 phase 4 wire metering system. In most circumstances they are used for electrical systems of medium voltages upto 33 KV.

High Voltage Metering Units are oil filled type units and are the preferred transformer units for outdoor installations. They may be used for indoor applications also, if required. The external body is constructed using hot-rolled or cold rolled steel. The fabricated structure is then cleaned and painted or powder coated as per client requirements.

The Combined CT-PT Units is used for - 3 phase 3 wire metering system or for 3 phase 4 wire metering system. In case of Combined CT-PT Units we use a single unit consisting of 2/3 single phase CTs and one 3 phase PT in place of 2/3 single phase CTs and 3 single phase PTs.

 

Advantages of using a combined unit in comparison to single phase units are:

• Single compact unit. Easy to handle

• Less in weight and volume compared to 5/6 single phase units

• Low costs. Combined units are approximately 30-40 % cheaper compared to 5/6 single phase units

 

We manufacture two types of CT-PT Combined Metering Units based on client needs:

• Type 1 : With HT insulators on the side of the unit

• Type 2 : With HT insulators on top cover of the unit
