Standard rubber is most effective in reducing NVH, but less effective in providing component rigidity. Rubber is less suitable for applications that are exposed to high levels of corrosive chemicals and materials such a soils, waxes, solvents and pollution. Hydrocarbons and ozone are rubber bushes' worst enemies, both of which are produced by car exhausts.
