Signal Isolator

Libratherm Instruments AC / DC Signal Convertor cum Isolator (Model : ISM-10) is designed in 35 mm. DIN Rail compatible modules. These modules accepts DC input signal of (4-20)mA, (0-20)mA, (0-50)mA, (1-5)V, (0-5)V or (0-10)V or from the Thermocouple or RTD Sensors or from the load cell, pH, ORP, conductivity sensors etc. It also accepts AC variable voltage of (0-110 V)/(0- 230 V) or AC current of (0-5)A or (0-1) A from external CT and provides optically isolated output in the form of (4-20)mA or (0-5)V or (0-10)V. Both the input and output levels have their grounds optically / galvanically isolated. Thus the process signals received from the Transducers or transmitters or Sensors can be directly connected through ISM-10 to the PLC, DCS, SCADA etc. without any ground line interference. The ZERO and SPAN presets are accessible to the user for on site calibration. These modules operates on 230 VAC / 110 VAC or 24VDC supply. The module with single input and multiple parallel outputs can also be provided to meet the control system requirement. These modules are rugged, reliable, field proven and economically priced.

    Multi Loop PID Controller

    Libratherm offers Microprocessor based Eight Zone PID Temperature Controller (Model PID-8000) (AS GOOD AS EIGHT PID CONTROLLERS IN A SINGLE UNIT) for processes requiring multiple zone heating or heating plus cooling control. It is most suitable for difficult processes which results in frequent system disturbances, and applications where accurate and simultaneous temperature control of number of heatingcooling zone is required. It also eliminates the need for number of individual PID or ONOFF Temperature Controllers thereby saves on cost and panel space. It can accept 8 Thermocouples or RTD (Pt-100) Inputs and can provide switching PID or ONOFF Control output in the form of DC Pulses or SSR Drivers for heating and cooling. It can also simultaneously provide 8 analog PID control Outputs in the form of (4-20mA) or (0-5) volt, which can be used to drive external SCR Heater Power Controller or other actuators. Open or Faulty sensor indications for each zone is also displayed with the respective Zone No. Each zone loop parameters like PID, SET, Hysterisis , Power Limit and Ramp Time values can be programmed from the user-friendly front panel membrane keyboard. The display scan rate is programmable from 1 to 99 seconds, whereas the internal control scanning is at the rate of 100mS. It also provides common High and Low alarm relay outputs which can be used for external temperature dependent inter locking or audiovisual alarm.
    PID-8000 is available in standard 12 DIN (192 x 96 x 200mm) for 8 zones, 6 zones or 4 zones. It operates on 230 VAC with built in high and low supply voltage trip circuits. It is also protected against industrial RFIEMI Interference.
    Libratherm also supplies complete Multizone Temperature Control Panel, which finds its applications in Plastic Extruders, Plastic Injection, Tunnel Furnaces, Ovens etc.

    Thyristorized Heater Power Controller

    Libratherm offers SCR triggering cards model LTC-12 & LTC-13 designed to fire or trigger back to back connected SCRs using synchronized phase angle control technique. The card accepts analogue control signals like (0 5) VDC or (4 20) mA and provides proportional gatecathode pulses G1K1 + G2K2. These pulses can be used to trigger back-to-back connected SCRs of as high as 350Amperes. The card also provides built in regulated 5VDC supply to connect external potentiometer to manually control the SCR firing. LTC-12 and LTC-13 are same in all respect, except the card LTC-13 accepts the feed back signal from the external current transformer for the current limit and trip features. This feature is useful for transformers or inductive loads or heating loads like Silicone Carbide and Molybdenum which exhibits significant changes of resistance with increase in temperature. Both these cards can be used for heating control applications to control the AC power to the heating coils or to the transformers. Three such cards can be used for both 4 wire star and 6 wire delta configurations of the heating loads. LTC 14 SCR triggering card is available in DIN rail compatible module and which can also be used to trigger triacs.
    Newly designed compact Three Phase SCR Triac triggering card model LTC-15 is used to fire three pairs of back to back connected SCRs or three numbers triacs configured as three phase - 4 wire star with neutral or 6 wire open delta. The entire assembly is available on either MS powder coated plate or on 6-mm. thick Bakelite sheet, which can be mounted inside the panel using 4 screws.
    Libratherm also offers ready to use Thyristor power pack modules ranging from 15 amps upto 350 amps for single phase, 2 phase and 3 phase heater load. The power pack module comprises the triggering card, suitably rated back to back connected SCR module - mounted on the appropriately rated air cool or forced cool heat sink, input and output clip-on type heavy duty connectors, etc. The entire assembly is mounted on either MS powder coated plate or on heavy duty Bakelite sheet, which can be easily mounted inside the panel as desired. Complete ready to use control panel with suitable temperature control panel can also be supplied as per the users specifications and requirement.

    ApplicationThe thyristor power pack has a varied application and can be used with heating elements like kanthal, super kanthal, silicon carbide, molybdenum infra red etc. Where precise and accurate power control is required. There is significant power savings with respect to conventional contractor type temperature control system which also depends on various other factors
