The Promoters started their business in 1986 as a small trading concern As salt is a cheap and an essential commodity for every indivual ,so they decided to trade in edible as well as industrial grade salt.

The elder brother Mr. Bishwa nath Shah and the younger Mr. Pradip Kr Shah, slowly involved completely into the Salt business. Whereas the elder brother was involved completely in marketing, while the younger looked after the administration, procurement etc.

Slowly and slowly the promoters got themselves registered with the Salt Department, under Govt. of India for movement of salt to various parts of India. As the demand for the product was immense and with the increase in cut throat competition ,the backward integration was important to retain the earnings of the group.

The Dreams of both the brother to become a manufacturer was turned to reality when in 2000 they started there own 1st Salt refinery in Rajasthan. During that time there were no refineries in Rajasthan, hence setting up a refinery was the 1st Mover advantage for the Group. Then Slowly and slowly they setup other refineries in different parts of India with several branch offices.
