The KDS-161 Sensor measures temperature at and around leaves of plants. It is an equilibrium sensor with very low thermal inertia and a thermal isolation feature that makes sure the sensor is open predominantly to one side. A magnetic rider arrangement allows the sensor to be easily attached to a moderate or large leaf. In smaller leaves, it can be installed somewhere in the neighborhood of suitably thick vegetation.
The physiological processes of plants depend on the temperature and many of these processes take place in the leaf. Hence, it is the leaf temperature that influences the rate of these processes. This sensor basically attempts establishment of thermal equilibrium within a close proximity of the space around leaves for greater accuracy. The sensor is used in agricultural & horticultural studies on plant growth, and is suitable for use in commercial greenhouses as well. It helps to save water and prevent loss of plants and enables direct measurement of plant hydration.

The is a smart sensor for the measurement of soil temperature at a single level or multiple, levels in one convenient probe. Two variants are offered, KDS-031-P and KDS-031-S. The latter is a single-reading capsule that needs to be buried to the required depth in soil. The -P version is a single probe offered for depths upto 1m, with upto 10 temperature sensors embedded in the same. Levels above the ground can also be integrated in the structure and the actual depths below ground surface or heights above ground are fully customizable. The KDS-161 Sensor measures temperature at and around leaves of plants. It is an equilibrium sensor with very low thermal inertia and a thermal isolation feature that makes sure the sensor is open predominantly to one side. A magnetic rider arrangement allows the sensor to be easily attached to a moderate or large leaf. In smaller leaves, it can be installed somewhere in the neighborhood of suitably thick vegetation.
The physiological processes of plants depend on the temperature and many of these processes take place in the leaf. Hence, it is the leaf temperature that influences the rate of these processes. This sensor basically attempts establishment of thermal equilibrium within a close proximity of the space around leaves for greater accuracy. The sensor is used in agricultural & horticultural studies on plant growth, and is suitable for use in commercial greenhouses as well. It helps to save water and prevent loss of plants and enables direct measurement of plant hydration.

The latter is a single-reading capsule that needs to be buried to the required depth in soil. The -P version is a single probe offered for depths upto 1m, with upto 10 temperature sensors embedded in the same. Levels above the ground can also be integrated in the structure and the actual depths below ground surface or heights above ground are fully customizable. The sensor has a long history of deployment. The system is simple to install and operate and it provides a very direct measurement of the water level. The stilling well is not left completely open, but there is a small vent near the bottom of the well. This method mechanically filters the water entering the well with high frequency variability. The sensor is designed for continuous indoor use in a stilling well and the encoder is installed in a covered enclosure overlooking the stilling well. The system is used for hydrological measurements in rivers, dams, artificial lakes, and other water bodies.

Evaporation Quantum Sensor

The KDS-221 Sensor determines the evaporation rate by measuring the low-range water level in an evaporation pan. (The pan itself is not part of the sensor; Komoline offers IS compliant evaporation pans separately.) It uses a float pulley/rack and pinion arrangement coupling a float to an optical shaft encoder. The sensor is built to exacting specifications. It easily integrates into an automatic weather station environment and provides reliable, on-site measurements. The collected data is used by agriculturists to budget for and allocate water resources as higher evaporation rates lead to higher demand for water.
