Ultrasonic Wind Speed Sensor

  • Range 0.1 m/s to 60 m/s
  • Range 0° to 359°
  • Accuracy +/- 2%
  • Resolution 0.01 m/s
  • Output Units m/s
  • Resolution 0.1°
  • Output Units Degrees
  • Calibration Traceability Offered MD
The KDS-101 Sensor measures wind speed and direction in automatic weather station applications. The four ultrasonic sensors of the unit measure the time it takes for ultrasound to travel from one transducer to another for computing the wind speed and direction. The sensor provides data continuously and the measurements are reliable regardless of altitude, temperature and humidity. It is used for collecting wind measurement data for aviation, road & railway safety and other weather monitoring applications.
Features
  • Measures a mild breeze to storms
  • Measures accurately in all directions
  • Robust housing resists contamination & corrosion
  • Reliable data in all wind conditions and climates
  • Tight interchangeable tolerance
  • Excellent long-term stability
  • Individual sensor calibration
  • Wide supply voltage
  • Easy integration
  • Indigenously built; state-of-the-art technology
  • Varied set of commands and calculations
  • RS485 digital interface

Vertical Wind Speed Sensor

The KDS-133-SP Sensor measures vertical wind speed (i.e., upward or downward) in automatic logging environments. The sensor uses a propeller type rotorcoupled to a quadratureoptical/magnetic rotational (incremental) encoder for measurements. It is used for high-accuracy, in-situ applications; by wind farm prospectors and equipment manufacturers; and by researchers.
Features
  • High accuracy over varied conditions
  • Tight interchangeable tolerance
  • Excellent long-term stability
  • Low starting threshold
  • Individual sensor calibration
  • Predictable performance; durability
  • Wide supply voltage
  • Easy integration
  • Multi-drop capable
  • Quick response

Wind Speed Sensor - Analog

  • Range 60 m/s
  • Accuracy 5 to 50m/s :±2% FS
  • output 5V FM Pulse Train
  • Supply voltage (Typical) 9-12 V
  • Supply current 15 mA
  • Calibration IMD
The KAS-131-SP Analog Sensor measures scalar Wind Speed (i.e. wind speed only) in automatic weather station applications. A 3-cup anemometer rotor coupled to an optical chopper is used for this purpose. The chopper output frequency indicates the wind speed. The sensor output is a switching signal of 5V logic compatibility but the output is actually analog in the sense that the variation of the output parameter is in the continuous time domain rather than in discrete quantized states.
Features
  • Indigenous; suitable for Indian environment
  • Accurate and dependable
  • Tight interchangeable tolerance
  • Stable and durable
  • Low maintenance; long-term usability
  • Easy interface with industry standard outputs
  • Predictable performance
  • Wide supply voltage
  • Built with corrosion resistant material
  • Customized versions available
