Super Duplex is stainless steel mainly used in oil and gas industries. Super Duplex alloys are characterised by a high chromium and molybdenum content. This provides high tensile strength which helps it to have a better resistance to corrosion, cracking as well as erosion, and having a high thermal conductivity and a low thermal expansion than conventional austenitic stainless steels. The high chromium and molybdenum content gives Super Duplex Steel a high resistance to acids that prevents it from pitting and crevice corrosion.
These unique properties of Super Duplex are the reasons for its high demand for a wide range of scenarios such as pipes in the oil and gas industry, utility and industrial systems, high strength wiring solutions, structural and mechanical components, cargo vessels and heat exchangers. | CW & CWA [Cold Worked] & [Cold Worked Annealed] | For applications requiring a smooth internal surface, high corrosion resistance and compliance with specifications such as ASTM A249. Tube is available in cold worked annealed [CWA] condition. In both conditions the weld area is subject to a mechanical forging process for grain refinement. CWA tube is then bright annealed, an economical alternative to fully welded drawn tube. |
