These steel socket welding fittings provide permanent welded solutions for critical applications. A Socket Weld is a pipe attached detail in which a pipe is inserted from a recessed area of a Valve, fitting or a flange. In contrast to buttweld fittings, Socket Weld fittings are mainly used for small pipe diameters or Small Bore Piping, generally for piping solutions whose nominal diameter is NPS 2 or smaller. To join pipe with Valves and fittings or with other sections of pipe, fillet-type seal welds are used. Socket-welded Joints construction best choice wherever the benefits of high leakage integrity and great structural strength are important as well as design considerations. Fatigue resistance is lower than that in butt-welded construction due to the use of fillet welds and abrupt fitting geometry, but it is still better than those of most mechanical joining methods.

TYPES & APPLICATIONS OF BUTT WELD FITTINGS:
A piping system using Butt welding Fittings has many inherent advantages compared to forms.

SEAMLESS BUTTWELD FITTINGS:
Seam-welded butt welded fittings are produced from annealed, hotrolled and pickled sheets or plates, which are formed into half shells or segments and also are longitudinally seam-welded. Seam-welded butt welding fittings are available with us in standard sizes, as published in the relevant product table, & we also provide in non-standard sizes. Standard sized fittings are generally ex stocked.

Welding :
Welding is carried out by Code qualified personnel (ASME Pressure Boiler Vessel Code and Bailer, Section 9; Lloyds Register of Shipping; TV and others) whose quality are regularly checked and approved. Well established welding methods include automatic. TIG, automatic plasma arc, pulsed TIG, MIG & shielded-electrode techniques.

Terms of supply :
Unless otherwise agreed, seamless butt welded fittings are supplied according to technical delivery conditions DIN 86086. Seam welded butt welding are supplied in the as-welded conditions.

End preparation :
alternatively: bevelled as specified, Square cut and deburred.

Marking :
All Buttweld fittings are marked with alloy name, outside diameter, wall thickness and heat number. Additional specifications like standard and alloy numbers can be added on request of our clients.
