Welcome to Khadi Gram Odyog Sangh
The idea of Khadi is something propagated by Mahatma Gandhi, and has a resonance with our freedom struggle. Generally speaking, a khadi cotton fabric is a fabric that has been hand spun, hand woven and created by rural artisans or craftsmen. Making of a khadi cotton fabric is a time taking process, because weavers do not have access to industrial looms. The quality of this fabric is wonderful and since these fabric materials are hand produced, they tend to be more organic, better comfort on the skin, and designs are traditional. The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) promotes Khadi in India through the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC): • KVIC A statutory body under the MSME, established in 1957 to promote and develop Khadi and Village Industries in rural areas. KVIC's objectives include creating self-reliance and building rural community spirit.
