The importance of ball clays in the ceramic industry is well known, it is an essential raw material in the manufacture of sanitary ware, kitchenware, wall tiles, and electrical porcelain and stoneware products. The wide use of ball clays in ceramic bodies is mainly for contribution to work ability, plasticity and dry strength being fine grained and highly as plastic, it also serves as a lubricant during the plastic flow in extrusion and pressing machines. In slip casting ball clays produce good fluidity. It also acts as flux at high temperature giving adequate toughness to the fired products.
