Powder hods - Type A enclosures provide an effective and safe environment when using powder weighing equipment in conjunction with toxic compounds or chemicals. Product Features.The AirMax total exhaust laboratory fume hoods are manufactured from structural polypropylene, which eliminates the potential for corrosion. Featuring the standard bypass design, AirMax exhausts a constant volume of air regardless of sash position. Optional features are available for precise control of blower speed and face velocity.
The AirMax microprocessor controller monitors face velocity and displays real-time airflow on the LCD screen in linear feet per minute. Blowers can be turned on/off via the AirMax controller when fitted with the VSD1 (variable speed driver).
Standard Features
Walk-in hoods are available in standard lengths of 4ft to 8ft. However, they can also be built to suit custom sizes, depending on the lab space requirements. Their exterior panels are phosphate coated with a baked chemical resistant and synthetic resin finish; and are constructed with heavy gauge, cold rolled steel. They are available in vertical and horizontal sash types, radiused corner posts and air foils for smooth air movement, thereby, assuring high levels of comfort, safety and efficiency
Walk-in hoods are used where a taller apparatus is required or when equipment is rolled into the hood. These hoods provide a minimum 78" of interior working height. These hoods are designed and tested to meet ASHRAE 110-2016, BS 7258 and DIN 12.924 standards. Some of the salient features are listed below:
Custom hoods and enclosures are specifically engineered to meet customer specific applications and requirements. From modifying a simple front open space to accommodating any specific equipment like reactors and pilot plant enclosures, Kewaunee's technical team can work with the clients team to design and identify the right fume hood apt for the application.
The Kewaunee team designs and builds the product, and then extensively tests the actual hood at the factory for containment and other standard tests. Further, clients are recommended to witness the ASHRAE tests conducted under factory conditions.
Kewaunee also conducts comprehensive ASHRAE 110 tests together with velocity and/or smoke tests after the hoods are installed at the customers project site.
