DTY yarn is mainly used as a part of weaving and knitting of fabrics for making garments, home decorations, seat covers, bags and numerous different things. DTY yarn can be in Semi Dull or Bright or Triloble Bright depending upon the kind of areas of filaments.

Technical Properties of DTY yarn can be moulded in a few ways to make the yarn reasonable for its vast uses. This is the traditional method of covering Spandex Yarn with Polyester Filament Yarn or Nylon Filament Yarn. 10 denier to 840 denier of spandex is wrapped with one filament yarn such as nylon, polyester, rayon, etc. It can be divided into two types- S and Z twist. It is regularly used Z twist in elastic fabric, but socks and underwear use both S and Z twist to body curve.

In this type, the Spandex Yarn is first covered with Polyester or Nylon DTY in a spiral wave with S twist & then on top of it, the yarn is again covered with Polyester or Nylon DTY in a spiral wave with Z twist. One is outer covering, and the other is inner covering. So the Spandex is double covered with yarn and final yarn has zero torque.
