Smashing is the process of compressing and removing the air from the folds and flattening of the Overall area of the Book-Blocks. Smashing strokes can be set in multiples to suit the compacting requirement for the desired rectangular shape. After the Smashing cycle the Book-Block is held firmly and Nipping operation follows for knocking out the excessive swell in the spine. Book-Block should be rectangular in shape and free from extreme gradients in the folded sewn area for quality & enhanced life of the BOOK. Smashing strokes (adjustable) from one to nine with two Nipping strokes, timing set in increments of 0.1 Seconds through the PLC (Programmable Logic Controller). The Smashing and Nipping hydraulic pressure is adjustable. Production speed of 600 to 700 Books (single Book of 30mm spine thickness) per hour can be achieved. Some of the other operator friendly features on the PLC are Manual & Semi-Auto option &Counter for number of Books processed. Dedicated Switches for Clamping (Smashing) and Nipping functions provided on the control Panel. Emergency and Recycle Push-buttons are located conveniently on the Top Cover. For operators safety: both the Push- Buttons need to be pressed simultaneously and Emergency Switch aborts the cycle immediately in case of an accident. Safety Curtain (sensor-based) is incorporated for operators protection. The Smashing (Clamping) Nipping operation is instantly aborted on breach of the Safety Curtain. This feature is a foolproof measure to protect the operator from any accident etc.

Book Spine Pre-Gluer equipped with Hot Air IR Dryer, is the most economical system for preparation of Book-Blocks suitable for Soft or Hard Case Binding by pre-gluing and drying of section-sewn, pre-smashed and nipped signatures. The process ensures that the Book-Blocks maintain its rectangular shape, which is free from extreme gradients in the folded sewn area. The section - sewn signatures Book-blocks are held under set pressure with spine resting on the flat surface to ensure rightangle reference of the spine in relation to the height of the book. The books upto a maximum pile size of 710mm can be processed at a time with pile under hydraulic pressure ranging from 1000- 1500kgs. The pile is hydraulically raised for turning the same to 180 with Spine-section exposed. Apply Glue with the help of a brush or sponge, a very thin layer of GlueAdhesive (preferably flexible, non-swelling Synthetic such as polyvinyl or AnimalJelly Glue etc. is recommended). Ensure that the amount of Glue applied to the Spine should be just adequate to sufficiently seal the adjoining signatures. The Dryer Unit equipped with Quartz IR Heaters and High Speed fans is brought over the Book Spine Area by sliding the Unit towards operating side. The Adhesive is dried within 2-3 minutes. The Dryer Unit is pushed back to its reset position on completion of the set-time. Book Spine Pre-Gluer Press is a neat cuboid of a machine sturdily built for processing Book-blocks economically with space power saving and simple to operate for consistent quality.

Semi-automatic Three Knife Trimmer with manual feeding of Booklets to meet the demand of higher production with maximum operator efficiency and safety. Ideally suited for finishing of Booklets (Centre Stitched Sewn), Exercise Note Books and Book-Blocks etc. Hydraulic Clamping and Cutting mechanism is very simple to operate and maintain. Size changeover is very quick and easy with the help of Clamp Boards. The castors are provided for convenient manoeuvre for maximum utilisation of space. Rounding & Backing is yet another milestone in our endeavour to continue our efforts in finding solutions for Book-binders. Rounding & Backing is the most important requirement in Hard-cover Binding Process to withstand heavy stresses with the help of structural shape similar to architectural curvilinear form identical to Roman Arch, thus attaining overall durability, usability and enhanced aesthetics. Rounding: Convex shaped spine generally required for soft-cover bound Bibles, Diaries and Note-Books etc. The process of Rounding is to bring the swell into a controlled form in which the spine-width does not extend beyond the Edge of the Book-block. Rounding is produced by means of two rollers rotating uniformly under hydraulic pressure to a pre-set Arch. Backing: The process of shaping a shoulder or creating space for formation of the Joints on both sides of the Binding (Spine) Edge. Space known as BACKING is provided to accommodate the Board-thickness and covering material of the Case. The rounded spine is evenly distributed by means of a Backing Roller as the signatures are flared from the center outward to progressively interlock with each other at 45 towards the edges, thus forming the BACKING.

Ideal round cornering machine for rounding of catalogues; books; exercise note books; diaries and other stationery articles etc. Heavy duty hydraulic twin corner cutting press can be fitted with different tools (dies) with radius ranging from r-3 to r-14 mm. Each set of cutting tools consist of two parts: an upper blade to be fitted to the moving platen and the lower die to be fitted in a special slot on the working platform. Chute is provided for shavingscutting waste to be collected in a binbag which can be attached (by the user) to the frame. Twin corner cutting press (tcc) is equipped with two cutting heads to cut both the corners simultaneously. The distance (inoutward) of both the cutting tools can be set with respective hand-wheels attached to the towers. The holding and pre-pressing operation is carried out by a built-in device and on completion of the cycle, both the holding and mechanism return to reset position. Control panel conveniently located. Foot switch is provided for ease in handling the material being processed. Emergency switch is provided for aborting the cycle midway. Castor provided for maximum mobility.

Pressing of cased-in books and simultaneous burning-in of the JOINTS for forming perfect hinge and permanent shape with the help of temperature-controlled pressure blades (Joint Forming Bars) for Flat or Rounded Spine of Book-Blocks. These blades are spring loaded for adjusting to different depth of joints automatically and hydraulic pressure can be set from 100-300400kgs to achieve the desired results. The bars (Joint Formers) are supplied for Flat and Rounded Spine Book-backs respectively. Temperature of the Joint Formers is set through Digital Temperature Controller (PID) to suit properties of Glue (Adhesive), Binding material and operating speed. The PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) enables choice of single or multiple strokes for accurate control of burning-in the Joints and consistent results. Counter on PLC indicates number of books processed at the end of each cycle. The system automatically releases the book on completion of the set timing cycle. Back-gauge (setting handle mounted on the front panel) is provided for faster make-ready production; Light Guide indicates the Joint Forming position and also reduces the make-ready time. Specially designed operator Safety Device in addition to Emergency Switch incorporated. Provision for Joint Forming of foam padded cases available. PLC based control panel for optimum reliability and simplified diagnostics. Press equipped with Castors for maximum space saving utilisation.

Hydraulic Book Press TBP-II with two independent stations with fixed Pile Height upto 400mm. The printed title can be pasted on open book or board to board size up to 810x525mm with single Platen & day-light area upto 400mm. The press can be used either in Manual or Auto-Mode with each station alternatively or together, resetting to loading position after pre-set time. The option to set time on a Digital Timer in Seconds (from 001 to 999). The option available for use are : Independent control through separate switch for left and right hand side Platens through SELECTOR position No.1. By selecting the 2nd position, the stations (platens) will operate in tandem to a pre-set duration in Auto-mode. In SELECTOR position 1 & 2 both the Platens will move up simultaneously with combined force of 12000 kgs. Single Platen supplied for pressing Books, Account Ledgers, Book cases & Boards etc. of large formats. Hydraulic Book Press designed specially for Exercise Note Booksstationery Manufacturers. The platen area adequately covers 3-Up or 4-Up Exercise Note Books. The printed title can be pasted on open book-size upto 800x500mm 1040x650mm with daylight area upto 260mm on both upper & lower decks-alternatively Moving on both the sides and the Upper & Lower Fixed Base Platen are equipped with stainless steel plates for best results. Centrally positioned Moving Platen is convenient for utilizing maximum idle time. While the lower deck is being used for pressing the stack of books etc, the upper deck can be loaded for next cycle. Timer can be set to meet specific requirement of boards cards sheets. The system would release the stack of book from either upper lower deck after a pre-set time. A constant dialogue with our customers, to satisfy the need of production requirement has resulted in the Squaring Press to handle 3 or 4-UP Exercise Note Books upto a width of 1020mm. 3or 4 sets of Exercise Note Books (Composition Bookscentre thread-sewn or centre wire-stitched) with heavy duplex board as title can be processed in less than 34secs. Productivity of over 9000 (1000x3x3) or 12000 (1000x4x3) Exercise Note Books per hour can be achieved with little or no training. The system can be operated in Manual, Semi or Auto modes. The squaring mechanism can also operate in single or double strokes. Other operator friendly features are: Selection of Manual or Semi-auto mode; Counter for number of Book-blocks processed; Dedicated switches for Clamping and Nipping functions in Manual Mode. Emergency Switch & Recycle Push Buttons are conveniently located on the Top Cover. Emergency Switch aborts the cycle and resets the machine to starting position. For operators safety: both the Push Buttons are required to be pressed simultaneously for initiating the cycle; an intricate Safety Device (sensor based) is incorporated as additional protection in case of malfunction of Recycle Switches or the operators hands are in the way of the clamping area. For uninterrupted production, Support Device is provided to ensure the book-blocks are held upright and are not allowed to sag to avoid triggering of Sensors during processing. Ideally suited for pressing and bundling of folded sheets (signatures), brochures, book- blocks etc. For perfect and hard-case binding process. The hydraulically pressed bundles preserve the freshcrisp look of the print as it prevents air & dust from spoiling the folded sheets(signatures). It protects the edges and facilitates stacking & storing of the bundles (pre post gathering collating) for optimum utilization of space. Push-buttonfoot-switch operated hydraulic system has a built-in power saving device. When the push button or foot-switch is activated, the motor automatically gets switched-on. The motor also gets switched-off as soon as the pre-set pressure (adjustable upto 2000kgs) is attained. Reset push button for release of the bundle and the moving platen returns to its set-open position. Groovesslots provided on pressure plates of fixed & moving platens for guiding the tape(strapbelt) cord(string) and prevent it from getting entangled with the pile of signatures. Tray provided on moving platen for storing excess length of cord tape strap and for placing the end support planks (plyboard hardboard). Clip on the left hand side of the fixed platen provided for holding one end of the tape (strap) cord (string). Motor remains switched off during idle period, the same comes on when any of the function i.e. Forward reset of the moving platen is activated. This is a power saving feature.
