Desiccated Coconut Powder is a grated, dried and unsweetened fresh meat or kernel of a matured coconut i.e., Cocos Nucifera. Desiccated Coconut Powder is graded for the purposes of commercialization by its cutting sizes by using sophisticated machinery. It is dried, dehydrated to achieve the moisture at level below 2%. Then the powder is packed in the HDPE or Paper Bags, which contain food grade PP inner.

Different Grades of Desiccated Coconut Powder.

• Fine Grade Desiccated Coconut Powder : This is grated Desiccated Coconut Powder of which not less than 80% of the weight shall pass easily through a sieve of square aperture size of 1.40 mm, but of which maximum 20% of the weight passes through a sieve of 0.71 mm square aperture size.
• Medium Grade Desiccated Coconut Powder : This is grated Desiccated Coconut Powder of which not less than 90% of the weight shall pass easily through a sieve of square aperture size of 2.80 mm, but of which maximum 20% of the weight passes through a sieve of 1.40 mm square aperture size.
• Unclassified grated Desiccated Coconut Powder covers all “fancy cuts” or special cuts (i.e. tender or thin flakes, long and thin chips, extra fancy shreds, long shreds, standard shreds, etc.).

Stages of production :

• Harvested coconuts are sent to the processing center within 6 to 8 Hours (Time between harvest and processing is 1-2 days)

• Selection of best young Coconuts

• Trimming process of the selected coconuts to make diamond shape

• The final product has a flat bottom, round body with a pyramid top.

• To prevent browning and mold growth on the husk surface, coconuts are washed by RO Water in three stages.

• Drying of coconut after sanitization, drain the dipped chemical, by natural air at room temperature (about 23-26 °C) and not over than 2 hours in drying area.

• 7. Wrapping with shrink film (food grade) and sticking with brand sticker

• Finished products are packed in carton box (Without seal) and stored in chilling room at 15 - 18°C. The final products are transferred to container on that day only when ready for shipment.

• Finished products are inspected and get sealed the cartons and transferred to the container which having the temperature at 12 - 15 °C, and inspected the container loading before shipping to customers
