Fast Hydrating slurry Guar:The natural fast hydrating guar is a non ionic guar and also knows as diesel slurry guar gum. In aqueous systems, its main use is in the stimulation of oil and gas wells as a fracturing fluid. This yields excellent pump ability, good hydration, good thermal stability and excellent shell life. It can be typically cross linked with borates and once cross linked it exhibits excellent carrying capacity to support sand or other proppants to be placed in the created fracture.

Regular guar gum gives viscosity after 2hors and fast hydration gaur gum powder gives viscosity in few minutes.

Guar Gum in Oil Field Applications:Industrial grade Guar gum powder are use in oil well fracturing, oil well stimulation, mud drilling and industrial applications and preparations as a stabilizer, thickener and suspending agent.

In the oil field industry, guar gum is used as a surfactant, synthetic polymer and deformer ideally suited for all rheological requirements of water-based and brine-based drilling fluids.High viscosity Guar Gum products are used as drilling aids in oil well drilling, geological drilling and water drilling.

These products are used as viscosifiers to maintain drilling mud viscosities that enable drilling fluids to remove drill waste from deep holes.

Guar gum products also reduce friction in the holes, and so minimising power requirements. Some Guar Gum products act to minimise water loss should occur in broken geological formations.

Guar Gum Powder

  • Oder: Odorless
  • Texture: free flowing fine powder
  • Solubility: Soluble in cold water

Guar gum is the gum derived from the seeds of guar plant. It is botanically called as cyamopsis tetragonoloba. Guaran is yet another term used to refer to guar gum. Guar seeds have high level of low-shear viscosity than other hydrocolloids. Guar gum is also referred as guarkernmehl, guaran, goma guar, gomme guar and galactomannan in different nations.

Guar gum is comparatively as cost effective option when compared to other traditional thickeners and stabilizers. It is also an effective binder, emulsifier and plasticizer. The polysaccharide present in guar gum contains high amount of galactose and mannose.

Properties of Guar Gum:

  • Guar gum has reasonably more thickening property as compared to corn starch. It has strong hydrogen bonding properties.
  • It is soluble in hot & cold water but insoluble in most organic solvents.
  • Holds back the growth of ice crystal
  • Guar is draught resistant plant
  • Guar gum forms gel in water

Endosperm of guar seeds are used in many sectors of industries like mining, petroleum, drilling and textile., food products, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, water treatment, mining, drilling, explosives, confectioneries and many more. Since a long time Guar Gum can be also named as a hydrocolloid, is treated as the key product for humans and animals as it has a very high nourishing property. Guar gum is widely used as a guar gum emulsifying, guar gum for food that is food ingredients, guar gum thickening, pet food additives and gelling additives. Plantago ovata as a plantago ovata for food and guar gum manufacturer provide guar gum for food nutraceuticals guar gum for textile.

FOOD AND PHARMACEUTICAL:Guar Gum in pure form when used in the ice creams acts as a superior stabiliser and gives the right texture by preventing the formation of coarse ice crystals. Guar Gum is used as a thickener and stabiliser in food and pharmaceuticals. The present trend is to use agro-based Guar Gum Powder only for Ice cream. It readily disperses in water. It is used in jellies and ointments as a thickener. It imparts good viscosity and gives better foam stability in shampoos. It is compatible with glycerol and is used in tooth-pastes.

BAKERY:Donuts, Bread Cookies, Cakes, Biscuits Functions:- To increases dough yield, gives greater resiliency, and improves texture and shelf life in pastry fillings, it prevents weeping of the water in the filling, keeping the pastry crust crisp.

COSMETICS:Guar Gum is soluble in cold and hot water and this solution is not attack by Bacteria. Guar Gum Protective colloid forming capacity results in emulsion stabilization. It is also a good thickener and suspending agent in Cosmetics.

PAPER INDUSTRY:Guar gum gives denser surface of the paper in printing. It is also useful in foresheet formation. It increases fold, tensile strength, pick and pulp. It decreases the porosity and improves finish for better paper quality. Guar Gum is used in paper manufacture as a better additive. It gives denser surface to the paper used for printing.

OIL AND GAS DRILLING:Guar gum is used in the hydraulic fracturing of oil and gas wells because their ability to thicken water efficiently at low concentration .it works as a lubricants, friction reduction, water loss control, Suspension, viscosity control and also cool the drill bits. It regulates the viscosity of mud solution, stabilises and regulates the flow properties of the drilling muds.

Locust Bean Gum Powder

Locust Bean Gum (LBG, carob gum):Bean Plants are of different varieties and beans seeds obtained from different bean plants have exclusive properties that make it applicable in several industrial applications. Locust bean is one among the bean types that possess high stabilizing property. Locust Bean Gum (LBG) is extracted from the seeds of Carob Tree. LBG, also known as carob gum, carob bean gum or carobin, is a galactomannan vegetable gum mostly found in Mediterranean region.

Bean Gum Derived from Locust Bean:Locust bean gum derived from the seeds of locust (Carob) bean. It is obtained through a series of several processes such as crushing the seeds, filtering the crushed seeds and then the endosperm present in the seeds is removed separately by grinding process. Later on the endosperm obtained from the bean seeds will be processed to get gum powder and then finally packed.

Health Advantages of Locust Seed Extract:Locust bean gum powder tastes similar to that of cocoa and many food industries which prepare special food items for diet conscious and diabetic people prefer this product as an alternative for cocoa. Hence, food recipes that contain cocoa as an ingredient apply locust extract as an alternative. This gum powder contains good quantity of natural fibre hence; it is also preferred as an alternative to reduce fat content. Food products containing Locus extract as a sweetener stays best for diabetic. Locust beans when added as alternative sweetener reduces the caloric value also.

The thickening and viscous property make this product stay suitable for several manufacturing industries and some of the important industrial applications of Locust extract are:

  • Food Industry:It is used in food processing industry to thicken food products such as ice creams, cheese condiments, desserts, sausages, salads, fruit juices, bread and pastry (bakery products), preserves, instant pudding and baby food.

  • Cosmetic Industries:Cosmetic product production finds locust gum powder to be a best ingredient in making lotion, creams, etc.

  • Pet Food:Locust gum powder is applied as a thickening agent in pet food production. It is considered as an important ingredient for the same.

    • Moisture controlling agent
    • Viscous agent
    • Stabilizer
    • Thickening agent
    • Improves Elasticity
    • Texture modifier

These properties keep this derivative suitable for several industrial applications. However, though other types of gum powders are also available as viscous agents, the main difference in the application of Locust bean gum is that it gives out complete viscosity when applied after dispersing the gum powder in water.
