Linseed oil, derived from flax seeds, is a versatile oil rich in alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), a type of omega-3 fatty acid beneficial for heart health. Linseed Oil is the main ingredient for manufacturing offset inks. The high IV reduces the drying time of inks.
Linseed Oil is also known as Flaxseed Oil. Flaxseed Oil is the term mostly used in Pharmaceutical, cosmetic and Nutraceutical Industries.
Uses –
This is the main basic form of linseed Oil obtained from extraction of oil from linseed through Expellers It is mainly used in manufacture of Alkyd Risins for Paints due to its high iodine value . we guarantee a minimum iodine value of 178 , High IV helps to reduce the drying time of allyd resins.
It is also used for manufacturing stone and wood polishes for giving that extra sheen and glossiness to the polish. It can also be directly coated on wooden furniture for giving it a glossy finish and also acts as a protective coating from moisture.
It contains highest amount of Alpha Linolenic Acid (ALA) content which makes it the highest source of Omega 3 fatty acid among vegetable oils. It improves digestion in animals when used as feed.
( To prevent from rusting) It is also used for manufacturing founding Resins which are used for castings or for other purposes in Foundry Industry.
This is the same as RLO just that some gums known as foots remaining in RLO are removed through some extra process The use and application of BFLO is same as RLO.
