Hot Rolled (HR) coils and sheetsare manufactured in Hot Strip Mills (HSM which involves the use of state-of-the-art equipment and manufacturing processes that ensure products of the highest quality. HSM uses a combination of the advanced ConarcProcess and Thin Slab Casting technology, which facilitates the production of HR coils which are superior in quality due to their thinner gauges and finer surface quality.

Cold Rolled Closed Annealed (CRCA) Coils and Sheets of JSW are produced through the cutting-edge Cold Rolling Mills (CRM). They are manufactured in Deep Drawing, Extra Deep Drawing, Interstitial Free Steels and High Strength grades, which are conformed to JIS, EN, ASTM and IS standards. Dimensional accuracy is guaranteed by an automatic thickness control system using advanced numerical models. Their easy formability, High-quality Surface Finish, consistent surface texture with the optimum balance between texture (for paint keying) and smoothness (for image distinction) makes it the product of choice for automobiles, appliances, furniture and many other applications.

The scale that is left behind on hot rolled steel after it is formed is undesirable in many manufacturing applications and processes. In order to remove the scales, steel mills use acid baths. Once the coil is bathed in acid, it is pickled. The pickling process consist of applying dried oil to the steels surface in order to prevent rusting. The end product formed is known as the hot rolled pickled & oiled(HRPO) steel.
