Shearpin Type Loadcell

The envisaged Built-in Crane Weighing System consists of high precision Shear Pin type loadcell which is used as a shaft in the equalizing barpulley. The shear pin loadcell replaces the equalizing pin holding the euilizing pulley. These loadcells can be custom built to the size of the existing pin in the crane. Crane manufacturers can chose from a list of standard sizes which are usually in stock. The output from the loadcell corresponds to the load applied and is processed and displayed digitally in the indicator housed in crane control cabin. A separate parallel 50100200300 mm display is also provided at the girder of the crane to enable viewing of the weight from the floor. The system has a potential free contact that would be activated if the crane is over loaded. It is possible to transmit the data from the weighing electronics to a base station receiver through Wi-Fi or ZigBee protocol.There are opotions for the electronics to communicate with the crane PLC via analog output or any communication protocol such as MODBUS or Profibus.The power supply for the system is taken from the single phase AC 230V available in the Crane Cabin. A switch mode power supply is provided internally so that it will take care of voltage variation as well as spikes.

Weigh Beam Loadcell

In this type of crane weighing system, the entire top block pulley arrangement is placed on 2 loadcells as shown in the scheme below.The advantage of the system is that the maximum number of ropes is weighed by the weighing system and therefore the accuracy of this system is the highest. However the capacity of the loadcell would be higher as it has to weigh the weight of the pulley and the entire assembly apart from the load.The output from the loadcell corresponding to the load applied is processed and displayed digitally in the indicator housed in crane control cabin. Weigh Feeder

Movement of bulk material is an essential feature in modern industrial processes. The simplest and fastest mode of transportation of such material is to convey them over a moving belt. In this operation the precise weighing of material, as it moves, has assumed a key role in process industries. Hence weigh feeder is a closed loop control system in which a precise control can be had over the flow of materials, which has indicating, totalizing and controlling instruments and circuits. This gravimetric feeder is operated by a closed loop control system enabling feeding at a controlled rate and exercises precise control over rate of flow based on a micro controller. Batching System

Every process industry be it steel, pharmaceuticals, food, chemicals etc would need to do batch production in certain processes. This would be due to processes like mixing, reactions etc. It is then so desired that certain quantities of different ingredients are put together as a batch and the recepie is critical for the process. DA Indicator

A135A1 is a 3- digit, panel-mounting indicator capable of reading upto a maximum of 1999 for an input of 15mV DC with a sensitivity of 10 mVdivision. It is compatible with strain gauge based transducer like loadcells, Pressure Transducers, Torque Transducers etc., which have 350 ohms bridge resistance. It can support a maximum of four transducers when connected in parallel. The system provides a very stable power supply of 10V DC for excitation of the transducers. It consists of a differential amplifier to amplify the signal from the transducers. The circuitry is based around an Analog to Digital converter (ADC). The ADC drives a 7-segment, 13mm height LED display. The system provides an output of 0-10V corresponding to the applied load. Weigh Feeders

Loss in-Weigh Feeders operate on the principle of controlled loss-in-weight. The proposed system comprises of a Weigh Hopper, Loadcells, Screw Conveyor with motor and associated control electronics. The Weigh Hopper and Screw Conveyor are mounted on 3 Nos. of Loadcells. The Loadcells are connected to a controller through a junction box.The material from the storage hopper is fed to the weigh hopper, which is controlled by a gate. A small screw feeder is mounted below this weigh hopper. The weigh hopper and screw feeder are mounted on high precision Loadcells and the output of the Loadcells are summed in a junction box and fed as an analog input to the controller. The controller calculates the rate, compares with the set rate and feeds the corresponding 4-20mA signal to the VVVF drive so as to control the speed of the motor of the screw, thereby controlling the rate of discharge.

Solid Flow Meters

These metering devices are used to measure the flow rate of very fine particles like fly ash, cement etc. The material flows by gravity through an air slide and flows over a plate which measures the impact which is proportional to the density of the material and the flow rate. The impact on the plate is measured by two high precision loadcells that give a very linear output proportional to the flow rate. The output of the loadcells are fed into the micro controller based flow rate indicator which gives the rate and totalized quantity of material. The solid flow meters can be used in series with a rotary air valve or dozing valve to have a controlled feed of material. Through Put Weigher

The system finds extensive use in process industries where monitoring the quantity of materials coming out after completion of a process, especially where materials like powder, granules etc. are used, which comes out at a very low rate, say in the order of under 5T per day or lesser. It is extensively used in the tea industry. The system consists of a buffer hopper and a weigh hopper both provided with gates. The weigh hopper is mounted on loadcells. These loadcells are connected to an indicator where the set value can be entered. As soon as the weight in the weigh hopper achieves the set value, the buffer hopper gate closes and the weigh hopper gate opens to discharge the weighed quantity of material on to a down stream process line. The electronic indicator registers the exact quantity of material. As soon as the weigh hopper becomes empty, the gate closes and the buffer hopper gate opens and the process continues.
