The brakes are spring actuated , which can be set at different lengths for obtaining diffrent figure of braking torques. Brakes is released by a DC short – stroke magnet. In the absence of power, brake remains applied- a fail safe feature in the vent of power failure. Braking torque depends upon spring force and remains constant at all speeds of the drum, a linning friction is sensibly constant.

INDUSTRIES SYNDICATE’ make Spring applied Fail Safe Electromagnetic DC brake is designed to perform holding as well as emergency stopping functions (Normally On), making it particularly well- suited for brake motor applications. These brakes are electromagnetically actuated with two friction surfaces on a single disc. The braking power is applied by means of compression springs. The braking torque is generated in the no power or in event of power failure condition. These brakes are having torque up to 1600 Nm. Brake are available in various version as per application. When electric current passes through the stator( brake coil), the armature plate is attractedto the statoragainst the spring force, thus releasing the rotor. When current is cut OFF, strong compression springs pushes the armature plate to its original postion, which clamps the rotor providing the braking torque.

Usually neutral of substation transformer upto 33kv is grounded through a resistor called neutral gounding reistor. The contacts have braking capacity of 8 Amps at upto 550 V, 50C/s AC and 180 Watts for DC inductive load. These are used in plain rotor resistance controls, thrustor operated creep speed controls and other specialised controls for AC Cranes or workshop duty or production type with repetitive operations on arduous duty cycles. all parts are easily accesible and replaceable.

INDUSTRIES SYNDICATE’ make liquid resiatance starters control rotor circuit only and a separate switch is required for the stator circuit of the motor. Both stator switch and Rotor starters can be engineered together for complete stator rotor starter. The starter comprise of a set of 3 fixed and moving electrodes for 3 phases under a head of electrolyte , which forms the resistance medium. The resistance is increased and decreased as the moving electrodes are made to recede form or approach the fixed electrode.

INDUSTRIES SYNDICATE’ make couplings are full geared, half geared, brake drum type gear coupling, resilient couplings. Full Gear coupling is designated as both hubs and sleeves are having outer and inner teeth respectively. Gear coupling Teeth are floating because teeth on outer surface of hub have spherical shape and teeth inside cover have cylindrical shape, have appropriate tangible clearance. Half Gear Coupling comprises one flexible geared half and one rigid half. It does not accommodate parallel displacement of shafts but does accommodate angular misalignment. This type of couplings are primarily used for “floating shaft” applications.The brake drum type gear coupling is used to connect the motor and gearbox shaft or gearbox and machine shaft.The brake is fitted on the brake drum.Thus it serves dual purpose of being a coupling and brake drum.Brake drum type coupling is mainly used to stop the service equipment without switch off the motor.Basically a mechanical force is applied from outside to stop the equipment.

INDUSTRIES SYNDICATE’ make limit switch, lever operated spring return, continuously rated for 40Amps at 440V, 50 cycles, with four pairs of normally closed contacts. Moving crane pushes the lever at the limit of travel and opens two pairs of contacts in two phases thus disconnecting power supply require for motion in the same direction, but at the same time providingconnection for reverse motion. The switch is contained in a sheet metal encloser with cast iron top and bottom cover and suitable for plain cable entry. Over-travel trip is bi-directional with backing out.
