With the use of atrium roof vents the clear opening to the sky quickly allows the hot air to escape similar to a chimney. In conjunction with side inlet vents and shade curtains temperatures can be less than outside ambient temperature. The inlet vents can be the guillotine vents with their clear opening or the old style rack and pinion. The quiet environment of natural ventilation is a great shopping experience in a retail garden center as compared to noisy fans. Less expensive cloth curtains will give you an economical natural ventilation option in the roof or the walls.

Net houses are basically naturally ventilated climate controlled. Icon Horticultture have a variety of applications, the majority being, growing of vegetables, floriculture, fruit crop growing for export market. Icon Horticultture are built of a Pre-galvanized channel cum tubular structure/ Tubular Structure wherein crops are grown under a favourable controlled environment and other conditions viz. temperature, humidity, light intensity, soil media, disease control, irrigation, Fertigation and other agronomical practices throughout the season irrespective of the natural conditions outside. In conventional Agronomical practices, the crops are being grown / cultivated in the open field under natural conditions where the crops are more susceptible to sudden changes in climate i.e. temperature, humidity, light intensity, photo period and other conditions due to which the quality, yield of a particular crop can get affected and may be decreased.

Icon Horticultture are available in different sizes and constructed as per customer requirement. The sizes vary from as small as 1000 Sq. M to 4, 000 Sq M and more. The degree of sophistication also varies from a simple net house with Insect Net/ Shade Net covering to highly sophisticated, fully automated drip and foggers systems, full scale computerized (fully automated) systems.

A fan-and-pad based greenhouse is used to provide a controlled growing environment for growing speciality crops and plants. This greenhouse is provided with special-purpose fans to draw air into the greenhouse through high-efficiency cooling pads made from high surface area ribbons of cellulose fibre. Humidity is controlled by an elaborate system of foggers. Fertigation is implemented by an efficient drip-irrigation system.

Typically, exotic plants and crops meant for the export market or as import-substitutes are grown in such greenhouses. The temperature and humidity can be controlled to provide the exact growing environment required for plants that grow in temperate regions. Plants that are commonly grown in these greenhouses are carnation, gerbera, rose, coloured capsicum, cucumber, cherry tomato, and so on.
