Banaba ( Lagerstroemia Speciosa) is a medicinal plant that grows in India, Southeast Asia and Philippines. Banaba Extract contains Corosolic Acid, a tri-terpenoid compound known to stimulate glucose transport across cell membranes.
Curcumin is the principal Curcuminoid extracted from the popular India spice turmeric, which is a member of the ginger family (Zingiberaceae). Turmeric's other two curcuminoids are desmethoxycurcumin and bis-desmethoxycurcumin.
Gymnema sylvestre is an herb native to the tropical forests of southern and central India. Chewing the leaves suppresses the sensation of sweet. This effect is attributed to the presence of the gymnemic acid.
