To keep pace with new technology. Hirect has entered into foreign technical tie-up for static converter for replacement of rotary arno converters of Electric locomotives manufactured and operated by the Indian Railways, A large number of 180kVA converters have been manufactured and installed. Hirect also offers 3 x 100kVA converters for the three phase electric locomotives.

The converter grade thyristor range extends upto 4350Amps with PIV upto 2800V incorporating standard packages of 14" unf stud in to hat range to 3"in capsule type. The inverter range is divided into two distinct types. One meant for standard low frequency inverter upto 4350 amps and 2800 volts and the other for high frequency applications such as induction heating and high frequency welding. The high frequency range has thyristors upto 1200 amps with voltages upto 2000 volts., 'turn off' times as low as 10 microsecs.

HIRECT make Cathodic Protection Transformer Rectifier unit (TRUs) comprise of Automatic, Manual & CVCC controlled. CP-TRU is used for cathodic protection of buried pipelines across the country, storage tanks at terminals refineries and other buried structures.TRUs are used to prevent submerged (Soil or water) metallic structures from corrosion. All submerged Pipelines (Oil, water etc.), concrete structure of bridges buildings sea ports etc can be protected from corrosion by doing CP.

Starting with the supply of diodes for traction application, Hirect now caters to wide range of rectifiers for rolling stock application. High power electric locomotive, AC Electrical Multiple Units are powered by Hirects on-board or under slung rectifiers. Hirect rectifiers are also installed on board Diesel locomotives and Diesel-Electric Multiple Units. Rectifiers for special purpose like OHE cars, Mobile Maintenance Units, Accidents Relief vans etc. are also catered. On-board Installation and Under-carriage slung version of rectifier sets are manufactured by highly trained work force and specially created infrastructure for a high degree of reliability in critical traction application.

HIRECT is leading supplier of the Water Cooled rectifier system. These rectifier systems supply high current upto 50KA for application like electro smelting. The systems are designed with OFWF cooling for transformer and water cooling for rectifiers. HIRECT also supplies converter transformer of ONAN and AN types as well as high current AC-DC chokes for smoothing and current limiting application.
