The Safflower Seeds are extracted from safflower, which is a highly branched plant. Traditionally, the crop was grown for its seeds, and used for colouring and flavouring foods, in medicines, and making red and yellow dyes, especially before cheaper aniline dyes became available. For the last fifty years or so, the plant has been cultivated mainly for the vegetable oil extracted from its seeds.
Flax Seeds or Linn Seed is a member of the genus Linum in the family Linaceae (binomial name : Linum usitatissimum). It is a cultivated crop and the plant is native to the region extending from the eastern Mediterranean Lands to India and was probably first domesticated in the Fertile Crescent.
