Water trap comprises of a round tub like container with a central hub onto which the pheromone basket or cage is fitted. While the cage holds the pheromone dispenser, the tub holds water mixed with oil or an insecticide.
How it worksInsects attracted to the pheromone are drawn to the trap, fall into the pool of emulsion/water in the tub, drown and die. The dead insects can then be removed from the trap at appropriate intervals and the tub refilled with emulsion/water.

Moth Trap is a plastic trap of three interlocking sections, a funnel with a canopy at the top and a transparent bucket at the bottom. The top canopy has a basket or cage to hold the pheromone lure.
How it worksInsects attracted by the pheromone enter the trap through the radial openings of the canopy. While in flight they hit the sides or basket and fall into the bucket through the funnel. They then get drowned in the water-oil-pesticide emulsion kept in the bucket and get killed. It can also be substituted by a cotton absorbant wad containing a strongly smelling insecticide.

Delta trap is usually made of polypropylene flute board or plain PP sheet laminated paper board. The name comes from their shape which is in the form of “Delta (Δ)”. The triangular shaped opening at both ends provides entry for the insects. An arrangement is provided inside the trap to place a sticky adhesive sheet on the base at the bottom and a hanger at the top to hold the pheromone dispenser.
How it worksInsects enter the trap through the delta/triangle shape entrance in response to the pheromone emitted by the lure that is placed inside the trap. Once inside the trap, insects strike against the wall while in flight and fall on to the adhesive sheet placed at the bottom of the delta trap. Where in they will get stuck and killed.

Harmony’s Solar Light trap is the most effective pest management tool in the hands of the modern, knowledgeable, progressive farmer today. It uses no electricity and no pesticides or chemicals, very easy to install (the farmer can do it himself), needs no maintenance, is fully automatic – switches on by itself when it is dark, switches off after 3-4 hours and is absolutely safe to handle. It is very effective against all kinds of flying nocturnal insects – big or small and specially the harmful pests that are known to be very active during night time. Its Ultra violet light attracts insects from far, but is not useful as a domestic lamp and so is theft proof.
Positioning & Installation :The solar light trap is to be positioned in the right angle in relation to the movement of the Sun during day time, in the south east direction as shown in the adjacent schematic diagram. Ensure that no shade of trees or other tall objects or things obstruct the incidence of sun rays onto the panel, so that maximum amount of sun light is absorbed by the solar panel of the trap, to enable the battery store maximum possible amount of power, so that the trap works for a long time during the night.
How it works :During day time the battery gets charged by Sun light absorbed by the solar panel and converted into electric power by the electronic circuitry and stored in the battery. During night time, this stored energy will be used by the Light and Fan fitted in the Trap. The Light and Fan are auto switched on as it gets dark and would work for four to five hours. Harmful nocturnal or night flying insects which are most active during this time are attracted by the ultraviolet light emitted by the LEDs, enter the funnel area and sucked into the bag by the rotating suction fan or fall into the tub with emulsified water. Once they are trapped in the bag or water tub, they can not escape anywhere and ultimately die out of exhaustion and lack of food. Traps are available in 3 models – one with suction fan and insect collect bag, second without fan but water tub and barriers and third a smaller one with water tub.

Palm trap, is a bucket shaped container covered with a cap. Pheromone dispenser and weevil magnet are hung inside the palm trap by clamping/tying them on to the inner surface of cap. Holes provided on the cap and around the perimeter of the palm trap nearer the cap serve as entry points for the weevils.
How it worksRed Palm Weevils and Rhino Beetles are attracted by the pheromone lure and magnet hung under the cap inside the bucket, which are either tied to the trees at a height of about 1.5 meters or placed inside small pits dug in the soil, up to a level just below the perimeter holes. They enter the bucket through these holes, fall into the water placed in the bucket (can be mixed with a small amount of pesticide or food baits such as jaggery) and get killed.

Funnel trap, as the name suggests, is a funnel, covered at the top by a canopy that holds the pheromone dispenser basket, with radial openings all around for entry of the moths. A transparent plastic bag is attached to the lower end of the funnel which should be cleaned and replaced occasionally, depending on the insect catch rate.
How it worksMoths attracted by the pheromone kept under the canopy, enter the funnel, hit the sides while in flight and drop down into the transparent plastic bag attached to the lower end of the funnel and get killed.

McPhail trap is a plastic trap of two interlocking sections -an inverted yellow funnel base with a small entrance at the bottom for insects, with a transparent, clear upper cap and a basket or cage to hold the pheromone dispenser.
How it worksFlies enter the trap through the opening at the bottom of the inverted funnel base attracted by the pheromone lure that is kept in the basket hanging inside. Once inside the trap, they remain held by the pheromone attraction and by the light entering through the clear top. When exhausted they fall into the liquid contained in the inverted funnel base where they drown. This liquid consists of water mixed with detergent or insecticide. It can also be substituted by a cotton absorbant wad containing a strongly smelling insecticide.
