The Polymol SNF anionic surfactants are a series of sodium salts of alkyl naphthalene sulfonic acid formaldehyde condensate. These products provide excellent wetting, dispersing, hydrotroping and medium to low foaming. They offer acid and base stability, hard-water tolerance and high temperature stability. The SNF naphthalene sulfonate–formaldehyde condensates are used primarily as dispersants in a wide variety of industrial applications. If stored properly in its original sealed packaging the shelf life is at least 12 months. naphthalene sulfonate condensates. As a powder, it is a convenient alternative to liquids if your process or storage capabilities are not suitable. As a low molecular weight dispersant with moderate levels of sodium sulfate; it is especially useful in dispersions having low solids content. Because of its economy and versatility, it finds use in many industrial applications. When heated to decomposition it emits toxic fumes of oxide of sulpher and carbon. Polymol SNF is readily soluble in water, glycerol, ethylene glycol and diethylene glycol and slightly soluble in most alcohols, but insoluble in most organic solvents. Solubility is not appreciably affected by salts and acids. Used as a major ingredient in different types of Superplasticizer formulations. In concrete, it enhances the flow properties of the mix by dispersing the cement particles and breaking up agglomerates, improving workability of the mix. and acids.
